Arishira's POV:

"Congratulations, sweetie." Mom hugged me as she congratulated me. Dad hugged me too.

"I hope you're enjoying playing table tennis," Dad said, and I let out a wide smile before responding.

"I had a lot of fun, Dad. I can't wait to play it again."

With that, both of them pulled away from the hug. They grabbed their luggage and left the house. I sat on the couch silently as I heard the car in the garage making noise.

I sighed as I heard the engine starting. Like usual, they were on their way to the airport. They were leaving for another country because they had meetings with their colleagues in France.

I grew up with my parents being absent. When I was a child, Mom and Dad had to hire a maid just to take care of me. Now, if they ever leave, Dad would just give me his credit card.

I lay down on the couch and stared at the ceiling. Whenever they leave me, I always get triggered by loneliness. Because of that, I have tantrums here all alone, and I'm helpless since I'm by myself.

I want Osamu here. I want my love here. I want to sleep in his arms.

But maybe he's too busy to even think of me.

Right.

But I want him here. . .

I opened my phone and decided to text him.

8:21 PM

arishiraaa_haruki: osamu

arishiraaa_haruki: I want you here ;(

arishiraaa_haruki: huhuhu

I left my phone open and unlocked the door just in case Osamu would actually come. Why am I so desperate right now? Am I being needy? I just don't want to be triggered again.

I lay back on the couch and closed my eyes. Osamu, please come home to me.

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷

My eyelids opened, and I realized what happened last night. I'm still lying down on the couch, and my back hurts—shit. I opened my phone, checked my message to Osamu, and realized that he never replied; he never even read the message.

Maybe he was busy?

Maybe it was late, so he didn't come?

Maybe he purposely left the message unread to avoid seeing me?

Maybe. . .

I'm overthinking again.

I grabbed my towel and headed to the bathroom. After finishing my shower, I put on my uniform and walked to school. I remembered that it's the third day of Founder’s Day, and there would be a pageant today. It's like the Miss and Mister at the school, and guess what? Kira is representing, and I can't wait to see her.

I arrived on campus and headed towards the gym. The adjustable stage was already set up, and I assumed that Osamu and the other sports athletes were practicing somewhere else. The pageant might start later, and I could see some students already seated on the bleachers.

I decided to head back to my classroom since the pageant hadn't started yet. Like they always say, ATTENDANCE IS A MUST.

When I arrived at my classroom, I went to my desk and rested my head. I was still sleepy, and my back hurt a bit.

I woke up, and when I looked around the classroom, my classmates were gone. Shoot! I'm late for the pageant; it must be starting now.

I stood up, and my eyes widened when I saw a man resting his head on my desk, realizing it was Osamu.

"Hey...Osamu...wake up," I said softly, hoping that I didn't disturb his beauty sleep.

His eyes fluttered open. Damn, he looks adorable.

He stood up, and we both headed to the gym. I wanted to talk to him about why he didn't respond to my message earlier, but now he seemed like he didn’t know anything. I was going to speak when he spoke first.

"Are you alright last night, Ari-san? I just read your message this morning," he said with his usual cold voice. "Damn Atsumu. He hid my phone yesterday."

I nodded. Oh, that's why. And why would Atsumu hide his phone? I guess that's just what brothers do.

Should I tell him why I wanted him at my house last night? But I'm scared of how he'll react; maybe he will call me dramatic. I grew up without opening up to my parents, which is why I'm always suffering alone.

Yeah. Let's just not tell him.

I responded, "Oh, nothing. I thought maybe we could hang out or something."

"Then what's with the sad face emoticon in your message?" he asked, and I felt nervous. Did I even send one?

"Oh right. I must've mistaken it; it...it should be a happy face! Yeah...." I said, and Osamu and I started walking again until we arrived at the gym. I didn't care about attendance anymore. As long as Osamu is here, I'm fine with it.

We spotted some empty seats in the bleachers, so we headed there and sat down. I looked at the stage and realized that we were already too late; it was time for the awarding.

The awarding of the second and first runners-up had already finished, which meant the last announcement was for who would be Mister and Miss Inarizaki High for this school year.

"And the winner for Mister and Miss Inarizaki High is...." The host said, and some drumming sound effects blasted on the speakers.

"KIRA AYAKA AND REN AOI!!" the host shouted, and the students yelled and cheered.

I jumped due to excitement, while Osamu just sat there, looking unimpressed.

Some of the students exited because the contest was over. It's too bad that I didn’t see Kira and her partner Ren slaying on the stage. Why didn’t anyone wake me up when I was asleep?

I also saw Atsumu on the stage; they were taking some photos with Kira. Wow.

"Let's go," Osamu mumbled, grabbing my wrist as we headed to Kira.

I hugged her and congratulated her. "CONGRATS KIRA! I'M SO PROOOOOOUD!"

Me, Osamu, Kira, and Atsumu took a selfie together.

"Both of you, smile!" Kira said, referring to us. Wait, is she going to take a picture of me and Osamu?!? Well, I couldn't say no to this.

I smiled, and when the camera flashed, Kira signaled that it was already done, so I went to see the picture on Kira's phone.

Whoa. This is the first time seeing Atsumu smile so so so  brightly.
