It had been eight years since I left Kayce that day in Montana and I hadn't looked back. I blocked his number and started my new life. Although he tried to reach me through email I never responded. Eventually stopping opening up the emails entirely. I kept in touch with Beth and she told me that Kayce still asked about me, even though he had a family of his own now. But she refused to say anything to him. She'd tell me that when asked by her brother any question regarding me, she'd simply say "You messed up Kayce, and you don't get to know about her anymore, she doesn't want you to." Which was true I didn't, because I knew that if I heard his sweet grainy voice or saw his big brown eyes then I would be done right then and there and fall right back into his arms. No I couldn't do that, I had to be stronger. I had to protect myself and to do that I had to stay far away from Kayce Dutton.

Once leaving Montana I had achieved many things. I had graduated a whole semester early from the University of Bologna in Italy. I had been recruited by Interpol and worked there for about three years. After a very successful stint with Interpol I decided it was time for a change. So I contacted one of my former colleagues from Interpol, Emily Prentiss. Emily and I never had the opportunity to work together but we meant once or twice nothing substantial. Luckily where she worked at the FBI in the BAU, the Behavioral Analysis Unit, there was an opening after someone recently left. That was all two and a half years ago now. I had a great job that I looked at like they were my family. Hotch was like the strict dad of the group. Rossi was like the fun uncle, Emily was like a big sister to me in more ways than one. JJ was practically the mother of the group, being the only one besides Hotch to have an actual child. Reid was the smarty pants nerdy little brother that you couldn't help but love. Then there was Penelope Garcia, Garcia was our technical analysis. She was like the human version of a bag of bubble gum. She always knew how to cheer someone up. Then there was Derek, Derek was like the cool older brother of the group. But for me he was also one of my best friends and my current friends with benefits. If the FBI found out that we were sleeping together and working in the field together then we would be in serious trouble. We could either be transferred or lose our jobs. And with all the sudden traveling it made setting down roots not easy. For us it was better that things stayed this way. No one got in trouble, we had fun and we kept our jobs. Next on the team was me, SSA Nora Jameson. I was incredibly close to all the team members in my own way but I was very careful with what I shared or revealed. The thing about profilers is that they are already observing your every move, I didn't need to give them an even bigger window into my messed up life to analyze the person I am.

As I layed in bed I was briskly woken by the sound of two cell phones going off, mine and Derek. I grabbed mine off the nightstand to answer it and elbowed to answer his phone while I left to answer the phone in the living room so Garcia wouldn't hear Derek.

"Hello Garcia, what is it?" I asked.

"Well good morning to you too sleepy head." She said in her usual chipper attitude.

"Penelope what is it? It's 3 in the morning."

"Okay cranky pants, come in we have a case."

"Alright, bye Garcia see you soon." and with that I hung up my phone and made my way back into my bedroom. Derek was now getting dressed.

"Let me guess Hotch called you." He smiled as he came towards me.

"You know it mama. Now come on and get dressed we have to be there in the next 15 minutes and with D.C. traffic that's already enough of a challenge." I nodded and made my way to the side of my bed pulled on my undergarments, a pair of jeans a black cotton shirt and my double breasted raincoat. My go bag was already in Derek's hand and ready to go. Not wasting a second I quickly washed my mouth out with some mouthwash and put my hair into a ponytail as we made it out the door.

When we entered the BAU we seemed to be on time, arriving with everyone else. Putting our go bags on our desks, we made our way to join Hotch and Garcia in the conference room. "Morning" I said as I sank my way into my chair waiting for this to start. After taking a deep breath Hotch began to speak.

"A slew of hookers and drug addicts have been found dead in Paradise Valley, Montana." After hearing the name of the place a part of me froze for a minute. That's where I spent so much of my life. That's where my old life was. "These women all appear to have either red or blonde hair that he then dyes red. The victims were found dead in the woods and on different rancher's property naked and face up holding flowers in one hand."

"Well we can also see all the bruises all over her body. It looks like she was most likely restrained and beaten before she was ultimately killed." I said

"And the flowers in the hand and the body being face up screams ritual," said Derek.

"Wait a second," Reid said. "Wasn't there a similar case about this 8 years ago?"

Looking through her notes Garcia responded"There was, but they never caught the guy." With that everyone seemed well briefed on this case.

"Well, we can't let him get away again. Wheels up in 10." Hotch said as we all made our way to the plane."

Once on the plane I was looking through the case notes but could feel everyone's eyes on me. Looking up from my notes I just looked at them. "What?" I questioned.

"Umm Garcia might've mentioned that this is where you grew up. You must be glad to be going back home." Emilysaid, noticing my sudden standoffish attitude.

"Yeah, I grew up there with my grandparents."

"Do they still live there?" Reid questioned, noticing something was off with me.

"Yeah they do, it's really beautiful there."

"I Hope that I can meet them while we're there." Said Rossi trying to relieve some of the tension from the room.

"We probably will, it's a small town and all." I said hoping they would drop the subject. "It says here that the unsub killed these women were eventually shot repeatedly for cause of death.

"Perhaps the unsub is trying to fill some sort of sexual urge, the gun is phallic." Derek chimed in.

"But what made him stay dormant so long?" Hotch said. "Alright Reid, and Prentiss go look at the body and speak to the medical examiner. Rossi, Morgan, and Jameson you go check out the crime scene, see if we missed anything and talk to the neighbors. JJ and I'll be down at the station talking to the Sheriff and making sure that we have their full cooperation.

As we pulled up to the scene I couldn't believe it. The most recent victim was found at the Yellowstone Ranch!
