Valentina's pov:

Flashback
"Blake, stop being so fucking reckless!" I shout at the blonde running a hand through my hair.

"What the fuck is your problem Val?!" She shouts back. "I wasn't being reckless! I was protecting you!"

"I don't need your protection, Blake! You could've gotten killed out there!" More frustration boils in my veins.

"So what did you want me to do huh? Leave you there when people are shooting in your direction?!" She takes a step closer, and then I notice her erratic breathing and the blood stains on her white button up shirt.

"I could've protected myself! You jumped straight in there, you could've died Blake." I whisper the last part, meeting her eyes which soften as she sees, the pain behind my iris. "You killed two people for me, and they almost shot you Blake, I can't lose you."

"Oh, mi amor, come here." She brings me into her embrace, as I let out a couple of tears. "I'm not going anywhere okay. Here." She pulls away from my embrace, taking my hand and bringing it up to her chest, laying it above her breast so I can feel her racing heartbeat. I close my eyes for a second, focusing on her heartbeat and her soft voice. "I'm alive baby, I'm okay."

"I love you." I open my eyes as she pecks my lips, my hand still on her chest.

"I love you too amor." She whispers.

————————————

"No, you listen to me." I say, grabbing the man in front of me by his collar, and crashing him into the wall behind him. "You're going to to through every fucking medical record and you'll find me a match for Blake. Are we understood?" Fear flashes across his face as he frantically nods. "Get out of my sight." I spit before letting him go. He scrambles out of my office.

"He looked scared." Leon says as he enters my office. I let out a chuckle, placing one hand on my hip and a hand pinching the bridge of my nose.

"He's finding lungs for Blake." I say and he nods, leaning against my desk, while crossing his arms.

"Will he find them in time?" He asks.

"He will. He's my best man for the job." I answer.

"I've got a couple of guys on it as well." He says.

"Good, good." I nod.

"You know Val," He starts making me turn around and face him. "Blake never stopped loving you." He says and I feel my body stiffen at his sentence.

"I know." I nod. "I never stopped loving her either, but my dad he just, hated me being happy with her I guess."

"You know why our families hate each other?" He asks and I look up at him shaking my head. He sighs, looking uo to the sky before meeting my eyes.

"Your father and my father went to college together, they had a small dealing business on the side but were hoping to become lawyers." He starts, as I lean back against the wall, intrigued in his story. "Then, they got busted because someone from their friend group ratted them out."

"Gerald." I mutter and he nods.

"Yes Gerald. But, he made it seem as if it was your dad ratting them out." He continues. "Then, they created seperate mafias, to, I guess show of their individual power." I nod, following along his story. "You wanna take a seat for the next part." He says and I begin to grow worried, but nevertheless I take a seat on one of my black chairs, Leon follows sitting opposite me.

"What is it Leon?" I ask.

"You and Lily aren't the only children your parents had." He says, meeting my eyes. My breath gets stuck in my throat, as I observe his words.

"What?" I whisper.

"Jason, he was your brother, and I-I I'm his twin." He admits, releasing a huge breath.

"H-What-How?" Shock shoots down my veins and I stand up from my chair, crossing my hands on the top of my head. Leon stands up after me. "No, no that, how is that even possible?"

"I can explain it." He says.

"Pleass fucking do!" I unintentionally raise my voice at him. "Sorry I'm just-"

"I know." He nods. "Your mother or I guess our mother gave birth to Jason and I when they were in college, right after the huge fight they had, and Blake's dad, to get revenge stole one of the babies. That baby was me. Your parents never stopped looking for me, but they decided keeping Jason as their own, without me didn't feel right, so they gave him away to a family that wanted to adopt. Later on they recruited him to protect you."

"No, no you're lying." I shake my head. "How would you even know that? Does Blake know?"

"I got tested to see if I was a donor for Blake, and the doctor noticed our DNA's are not similar even one bit, so I visited my d-Blake's dad in jail and he told me everything. And no Blake had no idea." He explains pulling out an envelope from his blazer pocket and offering it to me. "Here."

I take the envelope, looking him directly in the eyes. "What's this?"

"DNA tests." He says.

I notice a few sheets of paper in there and when I pull out the first one Leon says. "That one is for me and Jason." My eyes scan over the paper where I read DNA match, siblings most likely twins. I feel my hands start to shake, as I pull out the second paper.

"That one is for me and your parents." He explains.

I scan the paper again where it reads DNA match, parents. Realisation dawns on me as if its night, falling upon a bright day. Once again with shaky hands I pull out the third paper.

"That's Blake and I." Leon says as I read, No DNA match whatsoever.

"What's the last one?" I ask as I begin to pull it out.

"Jason, you and I." He says, as my breath gets stuck in my throat. I slowly pull the paper out and I scan it. Subject male A and subject B male possibly twins, subject C female siblings with subject A and B. "Its states our names at the bottom." I follow his direction and he's right. It reads Valentina D'Angelo, Leon Duarte, Jason Martinez are 100% siblings, same mother and same father.

"I-I don't know what to-I-what?" I can't form coherent sentences as I try to take this shocking detail in. Leon carefully places a hand on my shaky one, while he offers me a soft smile. For the first time I really take in his features. He's got the same smile as my father and the same dimples as my mother. His nose and cheek structure are the exact same as Jason's.

He really is my brother.

"I know it's a lot to take in right now, trust me all I wanted to do was kill that man right then and there." He says. "I wanted you to know the truth. I know Jason was like an older brother to you, and I'm sorry I couldn't be the older brother he was."

"Don't apologise Leon." I say softly. "You had no idea, it's okay." I put a hand on his shoulder as he meets my eyes. He has the exact same eye color as me. "I need to go talk to my- our parents." I correct myself and he smiles.

"You want me to come with?" He asks.

"No that's okay." I shake my head grabbing my blazer that is hung on the chair behind me. "Keep an eye on everyone and tell me if  they find anything." I slip on my blazer and he nods, just before I leave my office I turn around looking at him. "Leon?"

He turns around to face me, his hands in his pockets. "Yeah?"

"Thank you for telling me, I always wanted an older brother." I say and he grins nodding his head.

"I'll do anything to protect my sisters, Val. You just call me." He says and I nod leaving my office. I brush a hand through my hair.

Time to dealing with my lying parents.
