Kat sat down on a stool next to Jack examining the compass he was holding that kept pointing to her. "Jack the stupid thing is obviously broken."

"Far from it, luv." He smirked at her.

She huffed and looked towards the sailors that were signing their souls away to Davy Jones. Unfortunately for them, they had no idea what they were doing. "Jack, how can we do this to people? They're signing away their lives for us without even knowing it. This is wrong."

Jack snapped the compass shut and turned himself towards Kat. "Luv, let me explain this to you. I thought by now you'd understand what this world is like but let me break it down for you. You're a pirate now, whether or not you accept it." Kat looked down at her hands. He was right; she was a pirate now. Setting sail with a crew, going after treasure, killing anyone in their path, and now trading souls in order to save hers. "We save our ourselves. That's all we can afford to do. But sometimes... We get the chance to save people we care about too. That's what you're doing for your dear William and Elizabeth." She looked up to see him staring intently at her, "And that's what I'm doing for you."

She took in a sharp breath. I've completely fallen for a pirate. "About what Tia said-"

"We've got four people on board, Captain." Gibbs said cutting in to their conversation. A man cleared his throat and the three turned to see the next sailor coming to plead his case. "And what's your story?" Gibbs asked.

"My story... it's exactly the same as your story, just one chapter behind. I chased a man across the Seven Seas. The pursuit cost me my crew, my commission, my love, and my life." The voice said.

Kat's eyes popped out of her head and she paid full attention to the man. "That condescending tone is too bloody familiar..." She hopped off the stool and stepped closer to Gibbs and the man as Jack dove behind a plant. "Commodore?"

"No, not anymore, weren't you listening, Ms. Williams?" He glared at her through his filthy hair that was falling all over his sweaty face. "I nearly had you pirates, off Tripoli. I would have, if not for the hurricane." Norrington took a swig of from the bottle that was on the table.

She rolled her eyes at that pity story, "The one time I get your title right you decide to correct me? Typical." She scoffed, "Your obsession with tracking these men lost you all of those things. This is not any of their doing."

He ignored Kat, " So do I make your crew, or not? You haven't said where you're going. Somewhere nice!" He pushed the table over, and the music stopped as everyone turned to look at them. "So am I worthy to serve under Captain Jack Sparrow?" Norrington looked past Kat and pointed the gun towards the plant Jack was hiding behind, "Or should I just kill you now?"

Jack popped out and instinctively reached over and grabbed Kat's arm and pulled her back towards him. "You're hired!" Jack said.

"Sorry, old habits and all that." Norrington muttered. "I must say, Katherine, I wasn't expecting you to be here with this..." He gave Jack a disgusted glare, "Pirate."

"And I wasn't expecting you to have a full head of hair under that horrible wig." She bit back right as someone grabbed Norrington's gun and shot it upwards, hitting the chandelier and into some man's rum bottle. Needless to say, a brawl broke out.

"Time to go?" Jack said.

"Aye." Gibbs responded as they made their through the crows and towards the stairs.

Kat was right behind Jack when someone ripped her backwards. "Well aren't you a pretty little thing." A filthy, fat sailor smirked with rotten his teeth. Kat struggled to get out of his grip but his grip on her waist was too tight. Sick of the reeking stench of the man Kat did the only thing she figured she could do. She pulled back her fist and smashed it in to his nose. The larger man tumbled back holding his bleeding face. She shook her hand off and dashed up to greet Jack's approving look.
