I run back upstairs and decide to get a start on my homework. We get three days off school because the teacher's are going on strike. So that means, that I don't have to start an American school for 5 more days. You know what's stupid about this American school, well, they email every single subject homework! Since I didn't want to start bad at my new school, so I'm actually going to complete the homework. 'Stacie!' Yells my excitedly. 'Yes!?' I mimic her back. She sighs the same sigh every time I mimic her, but this time more loudly, because that tells me that I'm annoying. 'We're leaving now.' She says in a less excited tone. 'YES!' I scream at the top of my lungs, bursting with 100% energy. 'Coming!' My eagerness starts bubbling even more as I descend the staircase.
I jump on the last couple of steps and say, 'I'm ready!' And my sister says something in disgust. 'Shotgun back sits!' I yell and she immediately runs to the car. The reason why we have a 7-seated car is because this car is my aunties and she has 4 kids. Since I am a faster runner than my sister's 8 year old legs can carry her, I obviously got the back seat and even if my sister got to the back seat, I would've pulled her out of the seat and thrown her in the middle section, like I always do just for the joy.
We were 20 minutes away to the airport and my sister has come up with 20 - something ways of how she should get the back seat. I forgot that I've bought some songs on my phone and I immediately put my earphones carelessly in my ears. I quickly clicked my favourite playlists which held all of my favourite songs. Unaware of knowing that I didn't actually connect my plug to the phone and the music blared throughout the entire car. No one spoke, Madelyn actually shut up, THANK GOD!!!
Another 20 minutes past and we were finally at the airport and my sister finally comes to the conclusion of- I forgot what she was talking about. Well that's typical me.
We say the last goodbyes. We hug the last hugs and kiss the last kisses to my Aunty and we board the plane. She keeps on getting smaller as we get higher in the sky until the small dot disappears and we make our way to the other side of the world...
