Light

Light Bulb- Shines so bright, so useful, seen as a necessity and praised for it, but not many see or understand the inner workings, how hard it can be for it to shine in the wrong conditions, how it can still burn out, how the wires of it have so many different parts many just choose to be ignorant and only let themselves see the light, not really get to understand the light's source, its background, what it truly is.

Flashlight- Tries so hard to be like a light bulb, moved around, the second choice, only used when there's a power outage or no other source. It tries so hard to be helpful, to shine and show the path, yet it's battery dies with the few usages it gets, slowly burning away, rotting to nothing, later on discarded and seen as useless rather than truly trying, properly changing the battery.

Candle- Everyone knows them, they have such a  comforting smell, a nice light, memories of history carry on with them, a little warmth that shows so kindly. Though, even if its nice to look at, to admire and smell with its comforting air, the hard wax covers what the flame holds onto. Sure, a little can poke out, but not much. It takes so long for the flame of a candle to melt the wax for us to properly see the wick inside.

Flame- So bright. So beautifully bright. Big, too. Many people can sit around it at once, taking in its warmth, looking at its light for hours, the comfort of it spreading through the forest. The passerby's feed the flames, needing more. The flame, slowly burning out, feeds on these needs, and only gets bigger. Yet, with too much, there's destruction. A forest fire bound to happen, wiping out all in sight, seen as a horror of nature, nothing more than destruction until everything is gone, now nothing but ash, a fraction of what it once was, stuck with all the memories and remnants of its destruction. Though still flammable, will anyone bother to see it anymore?
