The members sat in confusion together in the living room of Jungkook's father's mansion, the atmosphere thick with unspoken tension. Jungkook's father had called them, sensing that something was off, but no one knew how to address the elephant in the room. After a week of your breakup with Jungkook, everything felt wrong.
Jungkook had changed; he was quiet all the time, a shadow of his former self. Wherever they went, it was like he had lost a part of himself, drifting through each moment without truly being present. His laughter, once infectious, was replaced by a heavy silence that weighed down the room. The other members exchanged worried glances, unsure of how to reach him or what to say.
And you-after that night, you hadn't shown up. Your absence was a gaping hole in their lives, and it felt as if the joy had been sucked out of their world. Jungkook was now staying with his parents, following his father's orders, a decision that felt more like a punishment than a choice. With his marriage looming just two weeks away, he hadn't told the members about the arrangement, keeping everything bottled up inside.
He sat there, awkwardly quiet, his fingers fidgeting with the hem of his shirt, eyes downcast as if he were afraid to meet anyone's gaze. The weight of unexpressed feelings hung heavy in the air, and the silence was deafening, filled only by the distant sounds of the mansion-a reminder of what once was and what could never be again.
Seokjin's voice broke the silence, his tone soft but firm. "Jungkook, what's going on?" Jungkook's gaze slowly rose, his eyes meeting Seokjin's. The pain and turmoil swirling within him were evident in his gaze. He wanted to keep it a secret, to avoid this very moment, but he knew he couldn't run away anymore.
Jungkook's father, oblivious to the tension, grinned as he tapped his thigh. "Well, nothing's wrong, son. I just called you to give you the invitation. You're like family, as per my son's best friends." His eyes locked onto Jungkook, who felt himself becoming detached from reality. He simply sat there, his eyes dark and blank.
"I knew he wouldn't have told you about this," Jungkook's father continued, "that's why I called you myself for this big moment." The members exchanged puzzled glances, their confusion deepening.
Jimin spoke up, his voice cautious. "Sir, what are you talking about? An invitation to what?" Jungkook's father smirked, his voice laced with satisfaction. "My son's marriage, of course."
The room fell silent once more, the shock registering on the members' faces. They looked at Jungkook, trying to gauge his reaction, but his expression remained stoic, betraying nothing. His eyes, however, told a different story - a story of pain, desperation, and hopelessness.
Hoseok's eyes widened, a mix of surprise and concern evident on his face. "Marriage? Jungkook, you're getting married? Why didn't you tell us?" Jungkook's expression didn't change, his gaze still distant and detached. He didn't reply, letting the silence answer for him.
Namjoon's face hardened, a hint of anger crossing his features. "Jungkook, what the hell is going on?" he demanded, his voice firm but laced with concern. Jungkook's father chuckled, enjoying the members' obvious shock and disapproval.
"It's a traditional arranged marriage, my son is lucky to have such a beautiful woman as his future wife," he said, his tone dripping with condescension. Seokjin's eyes narrowed, his brow furrowed in concern.
"But what about Jungkook's feelings? Does he even want this?" he asked, his voice soft but insistent. Jungkook's father waved his hand dismissively.
Jungkook, who had been standing silently, suddenly turned and walked away, his footsteps echoing up the stairs as he disappeared from view.
