Me and Briar sit in the living room waiting for Ben to show up. We've spent the last 2 hours getting all dolled up.

I wear a deep red cropped leather top with skinny jeans that hug my curves nicely. My hair is up in a bun with dark curly strands framing my face.

Briar, who is next to me, wears a stunning pastel yellow dress that stops just above her knees and flares out at the bottom.

I check my phone with a huff. 7:13. Of course.

I roll my eyes and lean back into the coach. "God, why are men always so inconsistent."

Briar sighs as well. "Maybe he's in traffic," she says.

Ok, 13 minutes isn't that late. But it is when you've cleared your whole schedule to do this. By schedule, I mean me and Briar sat watching cheesy romcoms and playing board games.

Soon enough, the doorbell rings and I immediately jump up to open it. Ben stands before me with his blonde hair messily lying on his forehead.

I smile politely as if I hadn't been shit-talking him a minute earlier.

"Ready to go, ladies?" He questions as his eyes roam over my body. I nod quickly and pull Briar off the sofa.

We walk down the stairs of the apartment building and trek towards Ben's car. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the karaoke restaurant. A large queue is waiting outside.

"Don't worry, I got my friends to save us a spot" he grins.

We reach about halfway down the line when Ben guides us to his friends. About 3 boys and 2 girls stand in a group laughing and joking around.

Ben clears his throat and everyone turns their attention to us. "This is Rhea and Briar." This makes them smile and start to introduce themselves.

"I'm Jack," A boy with black hair and brown eyes steps forward. "This is Lucas and Archie." He gestures towards 2 boys. They look like twins, with light brown hair and freckles. The only difference is that Archie's hair is shoulder length whereas Lucas's is cropped short.

"Nice to meet you," Briar says as I smile at them.

Suddenly, a tall brunette girl steps forward, "my name is Lydia" she says in a seductive voice.

"And I'm Rosaline." My gaze settles on another tall girl but this time she's blonde with blue streaks throughout her hair. Her nose is also pierced.

We all chat for a bit as we wait for the line to move along. Before I knew it we are at the front and flashing our IDs, or should I say fake IDs, at the scary-looking bouncer at the front.
