The Alter Kingdom's Guild Main House was crowded with people from every kingdom, there were adventurers, guards, normal people, and nobles. Even the royal family of every kingdom was there.

On a stage in the building, there stood the guild leaders, including Fay. She cleared her trough before talking.

"Thank you all for gathering here, as you may have heard we have had a visit from the dragons, they had a message for use."

Whispers started flying around, everyone trying to guess what kind of message would make the dragon personally come to say.

"They declared war."

When Max heard those words, he spit out the water he was drinking and looked at her, hoping she was joking. After Max agreed to have a talk, Fay brought him to an interrogation room.

'Fay, I'm not in the mood for jokes.'

She looked at him with a dead cold look on her face.

"I'm not, and I told you before that it's Miss Faye for you. The war is starting soon, and I want you to join the guild again."

Max chuckled at the irony.

'Why, didn't you say I won't be a human anymore if I left, I'm considered a monster now right? So what duty do I have to protect humanity?'

"I know I said that, and that statement is still true. But if you want to be trapped in a war with two species that want you dead, be my guest. This is your only chance of survival. Even some monsters deserve a helping hand."

'But how will everyone react to me joining? They want me dead not fighting alongside them.'

"That doesn't matter, you're a strong kid for your age, and you've done that in a very short time. As much as they hate you they can't deny that you are a great asset to have. In a short while we are going to hold a meeting, il announce your return there."

Max relaxed a bit hearing that, he imagined how awkward it would have been if he randomly walked inside and declared his recruitment.

"And since we are missing a lieutenant because of your action, you will have to fill that role and accept the role of Lieutenant of the Alter Kingdom.

Max was surprised, he wasn't at all close to Isaac's level, so why was she giving him this role?

'My strength doesn't match the requirement to become one.'

"You might be surprised by how low the lieutenant's first rank requirement is."

'How long is the war going to last?'

"About one year by my guess."

Max was surprised, he was expecting her to say a lot more.

'Didn't think you were so confident to say humanity is going to win In one year.'

"Who says I was talking about winning, I mean we're only surviving one year at most."

Max sighed and looked down. In one year his life and everyone else would end. But why did they declare war, why did they do it now?

'But why?'

"By what I've heard they said you're the reason for this war."

"I know this might come as a shock to many, but the dragon has declared war against humanity."

Every word spoken before stopped, and the silence echoed through the room. Only some cries of fear broke it. People didn't want to go to war, it was a suicide mission.

"Sadly there's nothing we can do but fight. We guild leaders and the royal families have decided to unite and chose the city of Wisteria from the Dayvon Kingdom as the capital of the new United Human Kingdom."

Just like you would think, the Dayvon Kingdom was chosen to hold the capital. After all, it was the heart of the continent.

"The human army will be divided into five divisions, led by the five guild leaders. In these five divisions, you will be grouped in teams of at least three people, you will receive orders to either protect or attack. But since we don't want you dying, your team isn't going to be the only one going on one of these missions. A mission will have at least two teams."

Fay, stopped talking for a bit, letting it all sink in.

"We will hopefully be able to put a lieutenant or someone with a close rank in every team. And speaking of lieutenant, as you may know, one of the Alters Kingdom lieutenants, Isaac has passed away. He was ranked high in the lieutenant's ranks, so it was a shock to all of us to learn he was killed by a little child."

Lieutenants are ranked in five categories. Isaac was in the fourth category, close to becoming the strongest you can become as a lieutenant. But he was killed by Max before he could do that. Meanwhile, he was strong, this was only because of the many drives he had gotten with his outlawed power, his soul capacity and class were low.

"The boy's name is Max solutus, he is a vessel. After what happened that day he was sentenced to death, but with the current situation, I've decided to put that aside."

Some people started booing, they weren't happy with a monster not getting the punishment it rightfully deserved.

"Instead of carrying out his original punishment I have decided on another one, please welcome our newest addition to the human army... Lieutenent Solutus!"
