Cole woke up to the sound of Fiorella closing the door to her room. He sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. What was going on? He threw off the covers and got out of bed, padding over to Fiorella's room.
"Fiorella, where are you going?" Cole asked, his voice laced with concern.
Fiorella turned to face him, her eyes red from crying. She clutched her suitcase tightly, her grip white-knuckled.
"I'm going with my real parents," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Cole's eyes narrowed. "What are you talking about, Fiorella? You don't have any other parents."
Fiorella's eyes flashed with a hint of defiance. But as she looked at Cole, her expression softened.
"I'm going to miss you, Cole," she said, her voice cracking.
Cole's face fell, his eyes filling with worry. "Fiorella, don't go. Whatever is going on, we can figure it out together."
But Fiorella just shook her head. She took a step closer to Cole, her eyes locked on his.
"I have to go," she said, her voice firm. "But I'll never forget you, Cole."
And with that, Fiorella threw her arms around Cole, holding him tightly. Cole wrapped his arms around her, holding her close as they shared a bittersweet hug.
As they hugged, Fiorella's mind wandered to her real parents - Queen Aurelia and King Fendrick. She had always known that she was adopted, but she had never imagined that her real parents were royalty. The thought sent a shiver down her spine, and she knew that her life was about to change in ways she couldn't even imagine.
Alexander woke up to the sound of Fiorella closing the front door. He sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Something felt off.
He threw off the covers and got out of bed, rushing to the window.
uyThat's when he saw Fiorella walking down the path, her suitcase in hand.
Alexander's heart sank. He quickly threw on some clothes and rushed outside, calling out to Fiorella.
"Wait, Fiorella!" he shouted, running down the path towards her.
Fiorella turned around, a look of surprise on her face. Alexander reached her and swept her into his arms, holding her tightly.
"I couldn't let you leave without telling you how I really feel," Alexander said, his voice trembling with emotion. "Fiorella, I love you. I've loved you for so long, but I've been too afraid to tell you."
Fiorella's eyes welled up with tears as she looked up at Alexander. She had feelings for him too, feelings she had been trying to ignore.
"Alexander, I..." she started, her voice barely above a whisper. "I love you too. I've loved you for so long, but I didn't know how to tell you."
Alexander's face lit up with joy, but Fiorella's expression quickly turned sad.
"But we can't be together," she said, her voice cracking. "I'm sorry, Alexander. I have to go. This is goodbye, forever."
Alexander's face fell, but he knew he had to respect Fiorella's decision. He pulled her close, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, gentle kiss.
Fiorella's tears rolled down her cheeks as she kissed him back, her heart heavy with sorrow. She pulled back, her eyes locked on Alexander's, and kissed him again, this time on the cheek.
"I'll never forget you, Alexander," she whispered, before turning and walking away, leaving Alexander standing alone, his heart shattered into a million pieces.
