"Wait! I do not want anything that is not pink!" Lavanya exclaimed as she heard her friends planning for her birthday. Pink was all Lavanya could think about. Her room had nearly everything in pink. her friends were tired of her "pink tantrums' and they wanted her to consider other colours as well. Don't get me wrong, she did admire other colours as well, but she was obsessed with pink. More than half of the class was invited for her birthday including the girl she hated, Marshika. There was nothing personal between them but they both just could not stand each other. Marshika was smart, pretty and a girl who did not mix with everyone. She was often mistaken for a self obsessed freak who was too busy admiring herself to notice her surroundings. That was the exact image Lavanya had about Marshika which is why she did not like her. Lavanya was a no nonsense girl and she could tolerate people who just blabbered about themselves. She was the sweetest girl you'd come across only if you did not test her patience. Coming from a rich n powerful family who were always ready to spoil her,Lavanya was not the girl you'd forget about.
Marshika, on the other hand was a simple girl who was very reserved. she did not talk to everybody which is why she was considered to be self obsessed. She did not open up at all, moreover she was a very good listener. The surprising part was that nobody even wanted to know about her life, which was very convenient on her part. She was brought up in a way that she valued everything in her life. She was not the popular one,nor did she want to be like that, she just wanted to make her parents proud.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!",Marshika greeted Lavanya in a polite manner. "Thank you" came the reply.Marshika did not attend Lavanya's party but she did wish her, which was sweet . Lavanya did not understand the reason between their cold war so she finally decided to talk to her about it.
