Chapter 1: Love Unrequited

Ryan Walker sat in the corner of the jam-packed café, his fingers nervously tapping the edge of his coffee cup. He watched Emily Carter walk into the room, her laughter like music as she joined her friends. She was everything Ryan dreamed of – beautiful, confident, and the girl of his heart. But Emily was out of his league. She never noticed him; in her eyes, he was just another average guy.

"Hey, Ryan!" Sara waved at him from across the café, snapping him out of his thoughts.

Ryan smiled back but his gaze lingered on Emily, who was engrossed in conversation with Max, the rich and popular guy who was always with her.

"You've got to stop staring at her like that," Sara said as she sat across from him. "She doesn't even know you're alive."

He groaned. "I know. But I just can't help it. She does something to me. I feel drawn; I just can't shake thoughts about her."

Sara raised her brow. "Good luck to that one. She's after cash not duds like you."

He clenched his jaw tightly shut without saying anything. He had an intuitive feeling that Sara was spot on. Emily only fell for guys with money bags, and Ryan had all just dreams.

Chapter 2: The Cold Truth

Ryan had tried to say something to Emily a couple of times, but each time, she just pushed him off. He silently watched how Emily laughed and flirted with Max, who was always parading his expensive clothes and fancy car.

One afternoon, Ryan finally found courage to approach her.

"Hey, Emily," Ryan said, his voice tremulous. "I. I was wondering if you'd like to grab coffee sometime?"

Emily looked at him, her eyes cold. She gave a quick dismissive smile. "I'm sorry, Ryan, but I don't date guys like you. No offense, but you're just not… well, my type."

Ryan's heart broke into pieces, but he grinned. "I understand."

As he walked away, he heard her talking to Max. "He's nice, but he is so. normal. I can't be with anyone who doesn't have money."

Chapter 3: A Change of Heart

Weeks went by, and Ryan stayed away. But something unexpected happened. Emily's relationship with Max began to unravel. Max's obsession with money and his arrogant attitude finally began to wear on Emily. One day, she sat alone at the café deep in thought when she caught a glimpse of Ryan once again.

He was reading a book. He looked peaceful and content in a way that contrasted utterly with the flashy, rich guys she was accustomed to. He seemed so genuine.

"Hey, Ryan," Emily called out, startling him.

Ryan looked up. His heart was racing. "Uh, hey, Emily."

"I… I've been thinking a lot about what you said," Emily started. "I was wrong. I was so focused on money that I didn't see what really matters. I guess I've been blind."

Ryan smiled, but there was a mix of confusion and hope in his eyes. "What are you saying?"

"I'm telling you that I've been blind. I thought that if only a rich man came my way, then I could be happy. But what I have is someone who really cares for me. And that person is you."

Ryan's heart skipped a beat. "You mean. you want to be with me?"

Emily nodded, her eyes genuine. "I do. I was blind, Ryan. But now I see what I've been missing all along."

Chapter 4: A New Start

Emily and Ryan started developing their relationship but faced serious challenges. Emily needed to learn to stop thinking obsessively about money and riches, and Ryan had to show Emily that love, trust, and kindness were valued above dollars and cents.

With more time together, Emily discovered that Ryan's worth wasn't in his bank account but in his heart. She found that love can't be bought, and that the man who loves her for who she is, not for her money, is the one that really matters.

The school term ended, and they were inseparable. That was not an easy trip, but it was all worth it.

And for Emily, Ryan was no longer that boy she did not love anymore. He was the boy that she would love forever.

End of Chapter 4.
