The sun was bright, and the air was thick with the scent of cotton candy, popcorn, and the distant sounds of kids laughing and screaming on the rides.

I stood next to Jungwon as we waited in line for the Ferris wheel, feeling a little giddy despite myself. For the first time in days, I wasn't thinking about Jake or what he was doing or who he was with.

I'm just... here. With Jungwon. In this strange moment where time seemed to slow down a little.

"You sure you're not scared?" Jungwon teased, grinning as he nudged me with his elbow. "I can practically see you sweating from over here."

I rolled my eyes, trying to suppress a laugh. "I'm not scared of heights, okay? I just... don't like being stuck in a tiny cabin at the top for five minutes."

"Oh, sure. You're totally fine with roller coasters but scared of this?" He raised an eyebrow, clearly amused.

I huffed, crossing my arms. "Roller coasters are fast. This is just... slow. Like, really slow."

"You're totally afraid of being stuck up there, huh?"

I sighed dramatically, but I couldn't hide the smile tugging at my lips. "You know what? Fine. I am scared. Happy now?"

His grin widened, and before I could protest, the operator waved us on to the Ferris wheel cabin. Jungwon climbed in first, laughing as he took a seat, clearly enjoying my discomfort. I hesitated for a second before following him into the cabin.

As the door clicked shut and the ride began to rise, I tried not to show how anxious I felt, but I could tell Jungwon noticed.

"Relax," he said, his voice light. "It's just a ride. We'll be back on the ground in no time."

I nodded, focusing on the view outside, the park looking tiny from up here. The silence between us was comfortable, the kind that happens when you don't have to fill the space with words, but I could feel his presence next to me.

It was easy to forget about everything else when Jungwon was around. He made it feel like all the weight in the world didn't matter, especially with his easy-going personality.

When the ride finally started descending, I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. As we stepped off, I felt lighter, like I could breathe again.

Jungwon, ever the tease, grinned at me.

"There. See? Not so bad."

"Yeah, yeah." I gave him a playful shove, trying to hide the warmth I felt in my chest.

We spent the next few hours hopping from ride to ride, indulging in all the junk food we could stomach.

He even managed to get me on the bumper cars, where I had to pretend that I wasn't having the time of my life crashing into him.

I couldn't remember the last time I had laughed so much, and it felt like something inside me was starting to uncoil, like the tension I had been carrying for so long was slowly melting away.

"Hey, try this." Jungwon handed me a pink cotton candy. "For your sweet tooth."

I took the cotton candy from him, eyeing it skeptically before taking a bite. It was so sweet, so ridiculously sweet, and yet... I couldn't help but smile.

"This is... actually amazing," I admitted between bites.

I wasn't talking about the cotton candy, not at all, but this moment. This is probably the most amazing day I've had this year. The last time I went to the amusement park was years ago.
