Chapter 1: Unexpected Opportunity

You stood in your school's conference room, surrounded by faculty members. Principal Suzuki's words caught you off guard:

"...and therefore, we've selected you as our exchange student to Karasuno High School."

Your eyes widened. "Me? Why?"

" Well you used to live around that area too right? Don't worry we'll visit you from time to time, it's only for most of the semester, plus you're a smart student Natsume-kun"

You think for a moment, was something controlling your principal that he had chosen you to be the exchange student?

"Uhm ok..I'll have to tell Touko-san and Shigeru-san about this.. uhm.. what exactly do I have to do there though? " You questioned as you notice a certain cat looking from the window,

" Well Karasuno high and our School used to be an affiliated school of sort, and me and the principal are friends so we wanted our students to get along, we did a draw and picked four students, and we had to choose one of them and we choosed you Natsume-kun" he said as he and the other teachers smiled,

" You should get home early today though, you have to go there in about three days" her homeroom teacher said to her as she nodded, as she got back to her classroom, she notice her friends talking,

" Oh! Y/N-chan! What did they call you for? " Your friend, Taki, asked as she smiled, Tanuma looks at you and smiled, your other friends welcoming you back,

You sighed, "Apparently I've been chosen as an exchanged student for a school called Karasuno High, I'm pretty sure that's in Sendai City.. "

" Woah! No way! Sendai?? That's in Miyagi! That is like way too far! " Nishimura says as he looks at you, Kitamoto nodding on what he had said,

"Yeah I'm pretty sure it takes more than 5 hours to get there, if you ride a bullet train it would take about 2 or 3 hours, but that's too expensive," Sasada says as she looks to be deep in her thoughts,

"Hm, well I'm pretty sure that they'll accommodate for the exchange students to live in some place," Tanuma says as he stares at you,

You then sighs," Well the teachers have told me to get back home as I'm going there in 3 days, so I won't get to hang out with you guys after this.." you said, disappointingly,

" Aww! We were gonna fish on the river today too.." Kitamoto says as he slumped over his desk,

" Well do you want us to help you pack your stuff Y/N-kun?" Sasada asks as she smiles,

" No need, I'm pretty sure I'll just have to bring some belongings, it's not like I'll move there forever.." you say trailing off,

" Well you better get going then Y/N-chan! Just call us if you need some help ok?" Taki says as she hugs you, you hug her back as you patted her,

" Sure, I'll see you when I get a free time" you says as you take your school bag, and left the room, but not before you said goodbyes,

As you walk out the school a round cat had jumped on your shoulder, now this could have been unexpected, but this was already something you're used to,

" Natsume, since you're going home early let's go to that store. " The cat demanded,
