The Last Text

I look around me, my car, crashed into a huge tree. The wind blowing chilling my face as I glance over and see my friends lifted into the ambulance. I hobble over there covered in blood and yell, " PAYTON! LISA! MADDIE! SKYLAR!" I stretch my hands out but I'm quickly pulled back in and here, " sweetie you have broken several bones and have a minor head injury you need to be taken to the hospital." I feel the tears roll down my eyes. I lay down and close my eyes.

*2 MONTHS AGO*

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ABIGAIL!" I open my eyes to see a new car and I gasp. my mom hands me the keys and I drive to school I get out of the car and I'm joined by Brandon my boyfriend/just friends cause I can't date. He holds my hand and we are joined by Payton and Cam who are the funniest people I know. I go to my locker by Payton grab my books and she says, " we have cheer today so be prepared!" I nod my head, wave at Brandon and go to science. the day flies by so quickly then lunch comes. I sit in Brandon's car for a birthday double 'date' lunch with Lisa and Douglas they are so sweet together! well later that day I sit with a good book and I'm joined by the most annoying girl in our grade, Maddie she eavesdrop and kisses up to ALL the teachers. I glance up to her and she says, " ok I've held it in long enough I heard that Brandon only likes you cause your a cheerleader and was going to avoid you if you quit in high school." I am shocked would Brandon really do this to me?! I look at her and say, " You know what Maddie, I'm tired of you making me freak out about stuff that isn't even true! so get away from me!" I run away and I bump into Brandon we talk forever and I stop and say, " Brandon if I quit cheer will you 'dump' me?" he sighs and I couldn't wait. IT'S TRUE I cry he try's to comfort me and holds me close, " of course I won't dump you it's just... my mom wants me to date someone with a part in the school" I hug him and think, " but if you really did like me would you really give me up for that?" he sighs again I walk away and he drives off I get in my car and I go home. he texts and calls me several times but I don't answer then I go to bed early. the next day on Friday I barely eat and Lisa says, "hey why don't we go on a girls day tomorrow and have some fun just us three!" then in the corner we hear "FOUR!" it was Maddie I was so up set but we finally agreed it wouldn't be so bad. I stay the night with Payton. we get up early so we can pick up Lisa and Maddie. we drive to the mall, get our nails done, go to the movies, and take pictures! it was so amazing I did miss Brandon though. so we are driving home and Lisa started joking around, Maddie trying to tag along got so frustrated and started yelling at us and Payton tells back, " Maddie calm down!" Maddie rolls eyes and we all go on our phones Maddie starts to shriek and says "isnt this such a cute picture of me! wonder why boys don't

like me!" all of a sudden she shoves her phone in Payton's face while Payton try's to knock it out of her hand. I look up and yell, " PAYTON LOOK OUT!" a car is coming towards us and we swerve and hit a tree.

*PRESENT TIME*

I wake up from my flash back and see Brandon by my bed. I hug him as tight as I could and wouldn't let go. he says, " I'm sorry Abby I don't like you... I LOVE you and who cares what my mom says i think your amazing and that's the only thing that matters!" I kiss him and then we are interrupted by the doctor, " Would you like to see your friends?" I smile as we get me into a wheelchair and go to Lisa's room. Payton broke 4 ribs a leg and is in a short coma but will be out soon, Lisa broke her hand and foot and had lost a lot of blood, I lost a lot of blood 2 broken ribs and a foot. then it hits me and Lisa... "wait wheres Maddie?" the doctor looks at me and says, "shes in surgery and she has to lose a leg because she wasn't in a proper sitting position." I feel bad for her and later that day after I get in my hospital bed, Brandon still there, I look at my phone and see my text that I was going to send when we crashed I showed Brandon and it said- " Brandon I love yo-" and that's when I crashed he hugs me and I say " Brandon you realize... that could've been my last text"
