Mi Familia: Ride or Die!

Part 12

(It is the next day, Mia and Brian were dozing uncomfortablely on the hard chairs and Letty was finally resting. Mia was just waking up when she felt her phone vibrate and saw that it was Abuelita.)

Mia: Hello Abuelita.

Abuelita: Mia, you all need to come home now.

(Something in her voice causes Mia to sit up straight as she hits Brian.)

Mia: What's wrong?

(with this Brian is up and alert.)

Abuelita: Is Letty with you, I saw the news.

Mia: Yes she's here. Now tell me what is going on there?

Abuelita: Just come home now Mia. This isn't anything to be said over the phone dear.

Mia: Ok, we will be on the way.

(Mia hangs up and see two sets of eyes watching her.)

Brian: Who was that?

Mia: Abuelita, she needs us back home.

Letty: (sits up) Why, what did she say?

Mia: (looks at her) She wouldn't tell me.

Letty: Dante?

(At that Brian make some calls as they make plans to bring the bodies home and get Letty discharged. Against doctor's orders, they were on their private jet headed to the Canary Islands. Letty was going in and out from the medication, while they were anxious to get home.)

(After a short flight they landed and one of the guards was awaiting their arrives. The bodies were placed in a van to be transported to the funeral home. They make it to the house and they are bombarded by their kids.)

Jack: Mami your home.

Mia: Hi my babies.

Olivia: Mami I picked you some flowers.

Brian: I guess I'm chopped liver.

Olivia: (giggle) Your silly daddy.

(She skips over to him and reach up. He picks her up and hugs her tight burying his face in her neck.)

Brian: I missed you babygirl.

Jack: Dad can we go out for a ride?

Brian: Not right now buddy.

(Letty just stands there taking it all in as tears fall down her face. Olivia looks over and sees her favorite person and gets down. She runs up to Letty and hugs her giggling as she looks up at her.)

Olivia: Tia Letty.

Letty: Hey babygirl.

Olivia: Your sad?

Letty: Yeah, just a little.

Olivia: Where Tio Dommy?

(Mia moves in and tries to direct the conversation.)

Mia: (calls out) Abuelita we're home!

Jack: She's been acting strange since yesterday.

Olivia: Yeah, she got a call and started crying.

Abuelita: Kids can you give us adults a moment please?

Jack: But they just got back.

Mia: Mind your manners, Jack.

Jack: Yes ma'am. Come on Livia.

(He takes his sister hand and they go outside and play. Once the door closes, Abuelita takes in Letty and her fragile appearance. She walks up to her and takes cup her cheeks as she looks her over.)

Abuelita: Oh Letty dear.

Mia: Abelita what was so important for us to be here?

Abuelita: I saw the news.

Mia: Yeah it's true. We brought them home to give them a proper burial.

(She pulls Letty into her arms and holds her.)

Abuelita: I'm so sorry for what happened to Dom and Jakob.

Letty: They declared Little B dead before we left. What am I going to do now?

Abuelita: He's here!

Mia: (looks up) What?

Brian: Who's here?

Abuelita: I got a call last night from the hospital. They said that a note was found with his name attached and this number.

Letty: (pulls back) Who?

Abuelita: Little B! I couldn't leave the kids so I asked the nice lady to send a picture to Jack's phone.

Letty: Let me see?

(Abuelita moves to the kitchen and opens a drawer pulling out a picture. Letty take it from her and study it as she takes in the figure on the bed. She looks up with tears in her eyes before she looks back down.)

Mia: This is impossible.

Letty: I need to go to him.

Mia: Let your still....

Letty: I don't care. I need to be with him, please.

Brian: Ok, how about I stay here and let Mia bring you.

Letty: Ok, I just need to change before we leave.

Abuelita: This is a miracle.

(Letty moves to go change in one of the bedrooms. As she place her bag on the bed a wave of nausea washes over her. She shakes her head and swallow to calm her stomach and dizziness. Once it's subsided, she change and they head to the hospital where Little B is kept.)

(Once there she bust through the doors and demand where her son is. She is lead to a soft-lit room where Little B was laying on the bed.)

Letty: (moves to him) Little B I'm here baby, mama's here.

Mia: (cover her mouth) Oh my god!

(A small smile grace Letty face as she bends to kiss his head, face, and fingers. She grips them to let him know she's there and that he don't have to be scared anymore.)

Letty: Im not going to ever leave you, Bubba.

Mia: How?

Letty: I don't know, but I'm not going to question it.

(At that moment a doctor comes in.)

Doctor: Hello I'm Dr. Hines. I've been looking after your boy since he got here.

Mia: Do you know who brought him here?

Doctor: No, he made sure he kept his f ace covered.

Letty: Do you have video footage?

Doctor: Yeah, but it was cut off that day.

Mia: Someone definitely didn't want us to know who brought him here.

Letty: We need to call the team.

Mia: We can worry about that later. Right now our main concern is him and the boys.

Letty: I still can't believe this is where we are. Domm and I made promises to each other that we will all come home in one piece. We were even talking about finally settling down to focus on a baby.

Mia: (gasp) What? You never told me that.

Letty: We didn't want to jinx it. Now it doesn't even matter, he's not here and we are all alone.

(Mia comes to sit across from her as she caresses Little B's arm. Letty lays her head down as silent tears fall from her eyes. As the time passed, Mia went home while she stayed with her son. Her sleep was restless but she felt a little at ease knowing he was there.)
