Mi Familia: Ride or Die!

Part 15

(It's been two months and Dom has been cleared for physical therapy. He's been working hard to get his strength back and is determined to find Dante. He misses his family more than ever and he can't wait to be reunited with them.)

Leon: Yo Dom?

Dom: Yeah!

Leon: You got a minute?

Dom: I have all day what's up?

(Leans against the table.)

Leon: I was thinking maybe I could help you find this Dante guy.

Dom: No Leon, I don't need to drag you into my mess. You have a family here and I can't let you do that.

Leon: It's my choice, besides I miss the fam.

Dom: Then you can come visit after all this shit dies down.

Leon: Let me help you.

Dom: (gives him a look) Ok, how will you help me?

Leon: I have a guy who can track anyone, and he has a damn near any weapon you can think of.

Dom: Ok, where is this guy?

Leon: How about we take a ride?

Dom: This better not be some bullshit, Leon.

Leon: It's not, I got you.

(So Dom follows him and they drive across town to this building. They get out and walk to the back where Leon presses a button hidden on the flower pot. Once inside he takes Dom down some stairs until they reach a door. Leon pushes the door and it opens, lighting the room as Dom's eyes scan the room.)

Buc: Leon my man!

Leon: (dabs him down) Buc how have you been?

Buc: Good, who's your friend?

Leon: This is my brother from another mother.

Buc: Uh huh, I'm guessing he's in trouble?

Leon: Far from it. So what do you think Dom?

Dom: Damn Leon!

Leon: Told you brotha, whatever you need he got it.

Dom: Well this is a bit much but I appreciate it.

(Dom looks around and points out everything he would like to take with him. After they are done they head back to the house to finish coming up with a plan. Dom goes to bed that night thinking about his family, especially Letty and Little B.)

(A few weeks passed and Letty was missing Dom like crazy. She was dealing with a pregnancy, making sure Little B was getting better, and trying to find Dante. She was coming down the stairs and into the kitchen as Mia flipped the pancakes.)

Mia: Hey mama.

Letty: (groans) If I can go a day without puking up my large intestines then I'm ok.

Mia: It's going to get better trust me.

Letty: Where is everybody?

Mia: Down at the garage or working on tracking Dante and Aimes. Isabel called, she's coming to visit for a week so she could spend some time with Little B.

Letty: Oh!

Mia: (gives her a look) What is it?

Letty: This will be my first time meeting her and what do I say to her?

Mia: Elena's death wasn't your fault Letty.

Letty: I know but I'm the one who got to see her son as he grows up.

Mia: Well she's going to be here around noon so get ready.

Letty: (sigh) I need food.

Mia: I'm almost done.

(Letty walks around the island and sits on one of the stools. She turns and looks out the sliding door as she runs her fingers over the cross.)

Letty: What do you think Dom would have said if he was here and I told him about the baby?

Mia: He would be thrilled. Letty you guys have been trying to make a baby for ten years that I know of.

Letty: (looks down) Yeah, I just hate that he's not here to see it. No one knows this but I had two miscarriages before this one.

Mia: What? How come I didn't know about that?

Letty: I didn't want anyone to know. I felt like a failure because I knew how much he wanted kids. So when Little B came I couldn't be mad about the situation because I was happy that he finally had what I could give him.

Mia: (smiles sadly) Dom is a great father and he loves Little B with everything in him. But I know my brother and having a baby with you would have brought him so much joy.

Letty: (nod) It's hard to be happy about it when he's not here. I'm trying to be strong for Little B, but I'm so heartbroken Mia. I'm supposed to be this tough badass woman and I can't be that because I lost my better half. I love my kids, but I miss him so much Mia and it makes me so angry because I can't do anything without risking my unborn child's life.

Mia: The team is going to handle it. I just need you to relax and make sure my niece or nephew is brought into this world safe and healthy.

Letty: I won't.

Mia: Mr. Nobody will be here Saturday for the cookout and he's bringing a special guest.

Letty: Oh god! I don't want to meet noncore new people.

(As they talk, Little B comes down the stairs and goes to Letty and hugs her.)

Mia: Hey Little B.

Letty: Hey Bubba, what's wrong?

Little B: I saw Dad.

Letty: What?

Little B: He came to me in my dream. He wanted to let me know that he was ok and to tell you he loves you, Mom.

(Letty couldn't do anything to hold back the tears that slipped from her eyes. Little B feeling his mother's pain, brings his arms around her and hugs her.)

Mia: He is our angel and watching over us now.

Little B: I miss him!

Letty: (hugs him tight) Papi wouldn't want us to be sad, because he knew the life we lived. But it's ok to show your feelings and to miss him.

Little B: It's just not fair.

Letty: I know baby.

(She pulls him back into a hug and holds him as he calms himself down. After a few minutes, she finally got himself together and sat down as Mia fixed him a plate. By noon everyone was outside getting some much-needed sun and to gather more information on Dante and his whereabouts.)
