(It's March, and the weather is warm and welcoming for a 14-week pregnant Letty. She was finally over the morning sickness, but now she was having weird cravings and her hormones were on another level. She was missing Dom now more than ever because she had an itch only he could scratch. She was in her room looking at her growing baby bump when she heard the door and then.)

Little B: Mom!

Letty: (hurrys to put her shirt down) Yeah Bubba?

Little B: (looks confused) What was that?

Letty: What?

(He walks into her room to stand next to her. He gives her a look that reminds her so much of Dom and it almost breaks her.)

Little B: What are you hiding?

Letty: (bites lip) Nothing, just fixing my shirt.

Little B: You're biting your lip.

Letty: (sigh) Ughhhhh! Fine, you caught me.

(Hesitant he reaches out and touches her belly and his mouth falls open.)

Little B: Mama you having a baby?

Letty: I was going to tell you.

Little B: Is it dads?

Letty: (eyes get big) Yes baby. Why would you think that it wasn't?

Little B: Well dad is gone and now your having a baby.

Letty: Well I'm pretty far along and I was pregnant before dad died, but I didn't know it. Do we need to have a "Birds and the Bees" talk?

Little B: (thinking) Oh gross!

Letty: (laughs) Well!

Little B: (looks down) Is that why you've been sick?

Letty: Yeah bud.

Little B: Oh, I thought something else was wrong.

Letty: No, I'm as healthy as can be. What were you coming to ask me before?

Little B: (feels relieved) I was going to ask if we can go get something to eat and maybe the beach.

Letty: (smiles) Yeah we can do that. That sounds like fun.

Little B: Ok cool! I'll go get dressed.

Letty: Ok, I'll be downstairs waiting.

(He runs out of the room to find something to wear as she smiles shaking her head as she looks for a bathing suit. She puts it on under her clothes then slips on her sandals and head down. She spots her sister on the sofa reading a book and decides to include her.)

Letty: Hey Cat?

Cat: (looks up) Oh hey Letty.

Letty: B and I are going to go get something to eat and to the beach. Would you like to come with me?

Cat: (hesitant) Umm thanks but I don't want to impose.

Letty: (gives her a look) I want you to come.

Cat: (looks nervous) Umm ok.

Letty: Great, we leave in five minutes, or whenever B comes down.

Cat: Ok, I'll go let Mom know.

Letty: Ok.

(Letty watches as Cat gets up to go tell their mother she was hanging with Letty. While Letty looks through the fridge for a snack she hears Little B come down.)

Little B Mom I'm ready.

Letty: (turns to look at him) Ok, I invited Cat along.

Little B: That's cool, she's a cool mom.

Letty: (smiles) Maybe I will see for myself.

Little B: (holds a bag up) I got the sunscreen.

Letty: Ok, I'll pack a few snacks to eat.

(Thirty minutes later they were headed out the door to enjoy this beautiful Saturday afternoon. Letty and Cat got to know each other on a deeper level and it brought them closer as time went on. Little B's nightmares became less and less and Letty baby bump grew bigger. Life was going as best as it could have but they had no idea of the chaos that was coming their way.)

(They make it to the beach and Letty lays out her beach towel as Little B takes off his shirt and shorts. Cat undresses and has on a yellow two-piece bathing suit. She lit her towel and sat down to put on sunscreen.)

Cat: It's so beautiful out here.

Letty: Yeah, itsike nothing I've ever seen before. I mean I've been to some pretty beautiful places, but it just feels like paradise here.

Little B: Mom can I go out?

Letty: Yes but not too far out.

Little B: Ok!

(Letty smiles as she watches him run towards the water and until his waist deep.)

Cat: He's a very smart kid.

Letty: (looks at her) He's pretty amazing.

Cat: I'm sure you had to be super excited after he was born. He just seems like a great kid and he loves you to the stars.

Letty: (smirks) He is not mine biologically, but he is mine in every sense of the word. I would move heaven and earth for him and would fight anyone who even tried to hurt him.

Cat: I see you finally showing.

Letty: (looks down) Yeah, it seems to have come out of nowhere.

Cat: How does it feel to be pregnant?

Letty: Weird because your body is not your own anymore and it's draining. Don't get me wrong, we've waited so long for this moment, but no one ever told me how much energy it takes.

Cat: You seem to be juggling it all pretty well.

Letty: Thanks, it's all I can do now.

(They sit for a few minutes before Cat says something.)

Cat: (looks anxious) I remember when I was little, maybe around 4 she would tell me this story.

Letty: What was it about?

Cat: About a mother who lost her daughter. I remember at the end she would always have tears on her face. I realized now that it was about you and how it affected her so deeply.

Letty: So she would talk about me?

Cat: She never flat-out said it, but I knew the meaning behind it was deeper. She would tell me that story whenever she felt like she was missing something. I just can't believe she never told my dad about her past life and you.

Letty: I'm still surprised he never found out.

Cat: Well he's always smitten when it comes to mom.

Letty: So why did you decide to stay?

Cat: I needed a change, and I wanted to get to know you better.

Letty: (nods) Well you're going to have to excuse me because I'm not used to bringing anyone big sister.

Cat: I think you are doing good so far.

(Letty laughs at that and that is the start of a beautiful relationship between them. They spent another hour at the beach before heading back. Cat and Little B went to go watch movies, while Letty went and took a much-needed nap. Mia was in the kitchen with Abuelita preparing dinner for the night.)
