I liked sin

I liked sin.
I'm not gonna front—
Every action of evil
It gave me a rush.

And all those times that
I faced it,
It was never enough.
Until it slowly,
Made me feel disgust.

I tried to wash it out,
But my tears weren't enough.
I tried to look away,
But it looked me in the face
And said:

Deal with it.
Feel your guilt.
Feel your shame.
Feel all the pain you've gained.

These emotions never felt the same,
But I can tell you one thing—
There is a good Father out there
Who can fix anything.

Oh, have you met His Son?
He paid in full for all your sins.
But wait—don't forget
To let His Spirit in.
Let Him cleanse you from within.

These words might fill you in
On a new life.
But wait—
That depends...
If you're willing to make a change.

Be aware of these nasty trends.
They've never been your friends.
They twist what's right into wrong,
But you know you have to be strong.

Don't pretend it's not in your face—
All those subliminal messages.
Please, don't be fazed.

Take a step back,
Assert yourself,
And realize:
Jesus has already
Taken you out of hell.
