"Tobias will be our first test subject, but Beatrice," Jeanine pauses, sticking her finger in Tris's wound. "Is injured and any results from her would be inconclusive." Tris muffles a scream from the pain of her wound will I continue struggle against the guards.

"You can execute her at the end of this meeting." Jeanine says to one of her lackeys. My heart drops into my stomach and Tris visibly tenses as she leans on me for support. Tris can't die, she needs to live! This can't happen. I will not let this happen! "I would rather die." I say to Jeanine using my low quiet voice that I know scares people back at Dauntless.

"I'm afraid you don't have much say in that Tobias." She turns away unfazed by me and that makes me angry. I read this one thing about this man named Bruce Banner from a LONG time ago. How when he got mad, he turned into the Hulk. Pretty much describes my reaction.

I pulled Tris to me and kissed her, just in case... in case this was the last time. She kisses back and for a second I forgot where we were. I pull away and lunge at Jeanine. I heard Tris scream my name as she tries and fights against the guard holding her back. I successfully grab onto Jeanine's neck but her gaurds pull me away. She has red marks on her neck from my grasp. "No!" I think. "She should be dead!"

Four or five guards pin me down and I hear Tris scream my name again. I try to get to her but I feel a sharp prick on the back of my neck. And then it all turns black......

****PAGE BREAK****

I wake up with a blinding headache. I look around, confused about where I am. I heard a girl scream something, I think she's screaming at me. I also hear another voice talking to her but I can't exactly make out anyone's words. I turn towards the girl and I don't know what comes over me. Anger and rage takes over and I run to her, wrap my hands around her neck and shove her against the wall.

Some people, friends I think pull me off of her. She leans on the wall and gasps for breath. There are little red marks on her neck where my hands were. Not worth the effort I guess. I still can't make out what everyone is saying but I follow a couple guards out and onto an incoming train and leave the girl with the other people. We don't talk but we all know where we are going. I need to get to the control room. Why? I'm honestly not too sure. It's just a feeling.

I jump off of the train and head to the control room. My feet lead me there like I've gone there a thousand times. I hold my gun out alert, just in case anyone tries to delay me. I don't know why this place looks so familiar. Just thinking about it gives me a headache. I open the door and sit down in the chair and start typing. Line after line, character after character. What I need to type comes naturally.

I hear little popping noises in the background but I don't pay attention to them. I need to keep typing. Just keep typing. Just keep typing. The door behind me opens and I turn around and grab my gun pointing it at the solider. She mutters something that I can't make out. "Put your weapon on the ground or I'll shoot!" I yell at her. She slowly places her gun on the ground but for some reason, I see one in her other hand that wasn't there before. "I said weapon on the ground!" I yell pointing my gun at her chest.

"I did," she squeaks and to my confusion, the gun that I saw disappears. Then she charges at me. I block her hits but she successfully knocks the gun from my hands. I notice she has a gunshot wound in her shoulder and I use that to my advantage. She says something, I think she calls me, "Tobias" and my grip falters. Is that my name?

She lunges at me to try and knock me down but I grab her and throw her to the ground so her lands on her shoulder. She, weak from fighting me grabs the gun and points it at me.

"Please, Tobias it's me, see me!" she cries at me and something in the back of my mind is saying that I know this girl. I ignore it and start towards her.
