I toss dress after dress out of my closet trying to find one that's not too revealing. Finally I settle on a white dress with black polka dots that shows off the rose half-sleeve tattoo on my left arm.
I actually don't even want to go on this date but my friend Nina insisted. She said his name was Kyle and he's a really great guy who is looking for something a little serious. Personally, I'm not really looking for something serious but I knew if I said no to Nina, she would just keep suggesting guys. This way I can get her off my back for a while.
I head to the bathroom and fix my eyeliner. I also comb through my short brown hair and put a little gel in it to give it some volume.
What? Don't look at me like that. If I'm going out I might as well look good.
I go out into my living room where my best friend, Daphne, is watching Bridesmaids and eating chocolate. "How do I look?" I ask her. She turns around to look and I also notice she's wearing her green face mask that looks an awful lot like smushed avocados. Her long blonde hair is wrapped up in a loose bun and she still looks absolutely amazing. I secretly envy her.
She looks me up and down and grins. "You look hot," she says bluntly. I can't help but grin back and say thanks. I slide on my black flats that are by the door and sit down next to Daphne, waiting for my date to show.
5 minutes later
We hear a knock on the door and I walk casually over to answer it. In front of me stands a man who is mildly attractive and only stands a couple inches taller than me. (I'm 5'6). I am now very glad I decided against wearing heals. That would have been embarrassing for the both of us.
I yell a goodbye to Daphne and head out the door to Kyle's car. 'Hear goes nothing,' I think to myself as I slide into the passenger seat.
