Caitlyn sought Vi's comfort after the results of the council meeting. She rambled about hextech and the Seraphine concert before remembering to offer Vi the security position Sevika needed to be filled. Vi accepted the position gladly.
Orianna spent her night disassembling and reassembling the hextech she had found in the Kiramman house, studying and tweaking it. She made sure to put them back exactly the way she found them. She didn't want to disturb the area more then she already has by occupying it. She also explored some forbidden knowledge that night. Her father had kept Viktor's notes about hextech. Orianna studied them closely. She simply wished to understand her new body better.
From what she understood, the arcane acting with inorganic matter, like weapons and technology, is for the most part safe and stable if the energy is channeled through a gemstone. That would be hextech. The arcane interacting with organic things is what makes it unstable, it can merge with organic matter, but it causes a sort of bounce back. Wild runes can pop up when the arcane learns more about organic matter, like when it entered Viktor. It tries to spread itself to other organic things as well.
All of this led Orianna to contemplate the future of Hextech. There is a way for it to be safely used, but there might be others who try to disrupt the peace. Maybe if... she was in charge...
The opening of a door behind her pulled her out of her thoughts.
"Hey Orianna- whoa. Did you... sleep?" Vi asked, looking around at the various open books and tools lying around the room.
"I don't think I'm capable of doing that anymore," Orianna admitted.
"I'm sorry to hear that... looks like you've been busy," Vi noted as she went to grab her gauntlets from their display case. Still displayed just how she remembered.
"I've been learning about the arcane. There seems to be a large void of misinformation that prohibits the council from reaching rational conclusions about the use of Hextech," Orianna commented.
"They passed a vote yesterday. Hextech is back on the menu, for better or for worse," Vi revealed.
"Who handles it?" Orianna questioned.
"Stevan Ferros. Probably the most elite clan on the council," Vi answered.
"That seems problematic," Orianna stated.
"Yeah, they threatened half the council to get things to go their way," Vi replied.
"Stevan should be removed from the council, no?" Orianna wondered.
"There were other things to worry about, but Caitlyn is planning a blindside, shes gonna get all the other councilours to agree to voting out Stevan, but they would need someone to fill the seat," Vi explained.
"Concerns greater then corruption? Interesting..." Orianna murmured.
"Theres a big event planned to socially unite the undercity and Piltover. They had to plan security. They actually picked me to be in charge of the whole operation, and I was wondering if you would like to join me?" Vi asked.
Orianna's eyes widened, then her expression shifted with joy as she smiled. "I would love to!"
Caitlyn walked into the room and rubbed Vi's back for a second before acquiring her weapon from its case.
"Glad to hear you are joining us Orianna," Caitlyn said softly.
The three geared up, Orianna with her spinning orb, Vi with her gauntlets, and Caitlyn with her rifle.
"Remember, only use your gear as a last measure," Caitlyn added"Yes Ma'am," Vi taunted.
'You should call me Ma'am more often. Thats doing something for me," Caitlyn joked back.
Orianna stood there with no clue what they were talking about, but she did it with a smile.
"Wow, its great not hearing Ekko's voice complaining about us expressing our love. Its great to have you around Orianna," Vi giggled.
"I am not replacing your friend, am I?" Orianna inquired.
"No, hes irreplaceable. I'm just saying he should take a page from your book," Vi elaborated."Alright, are we ready to go?" Caitlyn asked.
Orianna and Vi nodded. It was time to defend a city uniting Seraphine concert from revolutionists.
