Chapter 135: The Teacher Arrives

"Teacher Chen, how is Zuo Chun doing?" Wu Ting asked softly.

Chen Biling glanced at her while rummaging in her bag, "She’s managed to pull through. I checked with the doctor; they said it shouldn’t affect her starting school next semester. And you? Will you make it to school on time, or are you thinking of taking a break and joining my son’s grade?"

"I'm not taking a break, Teacher Chen. I'll be there at the start of the semester, no doubt about it."

Song Yimo didn’t hesitate to interject, shattering Wu Ting’s wishful thinking. "Don't be so sure. You’ll still need rehabilitation. It’s not up to you whether you’re ready for school."

"Yimo..."

"I'm just stating the facts, not trying to scare you. Even if you finish rehab before school starts, that doesn’t mean you’re ready to attend. School means sitting all day. Think about what could happen if someone bumped into you."

Wu Ting looked panicked. She’d already made up her mind to go back—she couldn’t bear the thought of being a year behind Yimo.

"Yimo, I can’t take a break!"

Chen Biling looked back and forth between them, keeping silent.

Song Yimo maintained her steady tone, "Arguing with me won’t change anything; we’ll have to follow the doctor’s advice. If you’re really determined to keep up, I’ll tutor you when the time comes."

Wu Ting's face broke into a beaming smile. "Promise?"

"Yes, I promise." Song Yimo sighed, already envisioning not only Wu Ting but likely Zuo Chun, too. Well, whether it’s one duckling or a flock, it’s all the same.

Zhai Muyang came in from outside and, noticing the guests, raised an eyebrow.

Song Yimo hurriedly introduced them, "Dage, this is my homeroom teacher, Teacher Chen, and her son. Teacher Chen, this is my brother, Zhai Muyang."

Zhai Muyang extended his hand from a distance. "Hello, Teacher Chen. Thank you for all you’re doing for Yimo."

Chen Biling stood up to shake his hand, her smile warm and genuine. Deep down, she felt grateful to Zhai Muyang. Without his help, who knows how things might have turned out for Wu Ting and Zuo Chun?

Even though this wasn’t something that had happened during school hours, she’d taught both girls for a year, and they were not strangers to her. She truly appreciated him.

"Hello, and thank you on behalf of Wu Ting and Zuo Chun. I can’t thank you enough."

Zhai Muyang glanced at Yimo and released her hand. "No need to mention it. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time."

Song Yimo, never one for formalities, pulled her brother to the sofa, poured him a glass of water, and continued chatting with her teacher.

"Teacher Chen, how long will you be staying here?"

"Since it’s rare for me to travel, and Yixin has a relaxed summer break, I thought I'd bring him here to explore. We’re planning on staying three or four days."

"Have you arranged a place to stay?"

"Not yet; we came straight from the train station." Chen Biling took a sip of water. "Yimo, I was just about to ask if you know of any hotels that are reasonably priced and conveniently located? Yixin and I would love to see some of B City's famous sights."

The best place would obviously be where she and her brother were staying!

Song Yimo cast a hopeful glance at her brother, her expression almost pleading.
