Although you're Taylor's best friend, and her brother is a year older than you, you can't help but fall for him.
You had been crushing on Austin for quite some time now, and of course, Taylor knows this. As a result of it, you weren't only friends with Taylor, but you had a friendship with Austin, as well. However, you wish and hope that it will be much more than that one day in the future.
What you don't know is that Austin was falling for you as well. He wasn't sure how to tell you, or if he should tell you at all. Not wanting to confide in his parents about this, Austin turns to his older sister for condolence and advice. When Austin bright it up to Taylor, it turns out to be the best decision to ever make, it was thanks to Taylor that he got the confidence he needed to tell you.
"Do you think I should tell her?"
"Absolutely!"
"What makes you so sure?"
"Because, ( Y/n) is my best friend and I just happen to know that she likes you, too."
Austin's heart leapt in excitement when he learned of this news, though he didn't want to get his hopes up in case they were both wrong and agreed to talk and tell you.
Austin waited until his birthday to talk to you, Taylor wanted to give him a party in her backyard and invited you. Of course, you went and when you did, you didn't expect for it to turn out the way it did. But hey, you weren't complaining. The party started off normally, you showed up alone and found Taylor, you stick by her until you felt a light tap on your shoulder.
Turning around, you see it's Austin and felt your cheeks begin to heat up as you give him a shy smile.
"Thank you for coming!"
"Of course! Happy birthday!"
Austin smiles, sending butterflies in your tummy before he continues.
"Listen, I wanted to talk to you about something. Can we go somewhere more private?"
"Of course we can, what did you want to talk about?"
Instead of answering, Austin gently took a hold of your hand and lead you to the pool area where it was a little more quiet and away from the crowd of guests.
Austin seemed to be nervous, so you remain patient to let him gather his thoughts. At last, he took a deep breath, you anxiously waited for him to say something.
"Listen, the thing is, I like you. I like you a lot in fact. More than in a friendship way. I understand if you don't feel the same way, I just needed you to know."
It didn't take you long to say something, as Austin just made you the happiest woman in the world.
"Oh, Austin! You have no idea how happy you just made me! I like you, too!"
"You do?"
You nod in excitement, a smile on your face.
"So, if I were to ask you on a date, you'd say-"
"Yes!"
"Alright, it's a date!"
Austin leant in and captured your lips in his, and you don't hesitate to return his kiss.
Austin was yours now.
