Author's POV

It's been a week since the Kabir fiasco was sorted out. Kabir got arrested and Siya's father made sure that he got a severe punishment for his acts. They stayed the week in Chennai to spend time with Siya and she was delighted to have them here. They were returning back to Mumbai today.

Also, Ishita, Swati's younger sister was moving to Chennai for college. Siya and Swati were going to the airport to drop off Siya's parents and pick-up Swati's sister as she would be staying with them until she found a PG. Swati had gotten the hostel warden's permission for the same and the warden gladly agreed.

Sid, Aarav and Raghav decided to accompany the girls. Raghav was full of excitement to meet his Ishi.

As they reached the airport, Siya hugged her parents. After bidding bye to them, they waited for Ishita to arrive.

"Yaar, kab aayegi Ishi?" Raghav asked in a very desperate tone.

"Aa jayegi na, tu kyu desperate ho raha hai?" Sid said, wrapping an arm around Siya's shoulder. The others chuckled at Raghav's desperation.

Swati was eagerly waiting for her sister while Aarav kept staring at her. There was tension between the two of them.

Aarav was trying hard to talk to her but she ignored him like a plague. As he was looking at her, his mind drifted off to that particular day when everything went downhill and whatever progress they had made, dissipated into the air.

FLASHBACK

Aarav and Swati had begun to come on good terms with each other. Swati, who had just figured out her feelings for Aarav, felt different these days. Whenever she thought about him, the song 'Kuch Toh Hua Hai' would play in the back of her mind.

On the other hand, Aarav was feeling a bit frustrated. Many times, he tried to confess his feelings to her but it would turn into a joke or she would just unknowingly shut him off. He knew that she didn't do that intentionally and that she was trying to figure it out too but at the same time, he felt like she didn't care enough for him. Like she didn't pay much attention to him.

Swati was sitting in the library reading a book that Siya suggested to her. Just across the table, Aarav sat there scrolling through his phone as Sid had just left. She was admiring his features while she pretended to read the book in her hand. Just then, a girl approached Aarav.

"Yes?" He asked.

"Aarav, can you help me get the book from the top shelf?" The girl asked giving him puppy eyes that made Swati cringe.

"Yea sure, which shelf?" Aarav got up to help.

'Why does he have to help? Can't he see that she was clearly just trying to flirt with him?' Swati thought.

"It's on the other side, come I'll show you," the girl said.

Aarav nodded and left with her. Swati was feeling anxious now.

'Ek kitaab nikalne mein itna samay lagta hai kya?' she thought. Even after five minutes when he didn't return, she went to look for him.

The sight in front of her was unpleasant to her. The girl was on the floor crying over a twisted ankle while Aarav had crouched down to help her.
