"Hey princess, you almost done? I'm sure you look gorgeous, stop," Tobin Heath knocked on the bathroom door inside the hotel room she was sharing with Alex Morgan.
Alex opened the door and stepped out.
"All yours, kiddo." She gave Tobin a quick kiss on the cheek.
"You're all mine, or the bathroom's all mine?"
Tobin grinned.
Alex rolled her eyes and smiled. "Both."
Tobin went into the bathroom and quickly fixed her hair and put a bit of mascara on. Nothing major, she didn't really care too much about her appearance.
Alex's college friend had invited her to a party at a local bar, and she was bringing Tobin as her plus one.
The pair had been together for almost two years, but hadn't exposed it to the public. Ashlyn and Ali were an out couple on the USWNT, as well as Kelley and Hope, but Tobin and Alex were afraid to tell people about their relationship.
They arrived at the bar, Tobin desperately wanting to hold her girl's hand, but they resisted.
Alex said hello to her old friends and introduced them to her "friend," Tobin.
After an hour or two of socializing and dancing (two things that Tobin wasn't a big fan of), Alex took Tobin's hand and led her onto the back porch of the bar.
Alex pressed Tobin against the wall and they kissed for a few moments, then heard the click of a camera and saw a flash.
"Shit.." Alex said under her breath.
"Get inside, quick!" Tobin took Alex's hand and pulled her back into the bar, but it was too late.
"Breaking news from TMZ, Tobin Heath and Alex Morgan spotted together, VERY together, at Comets Bar in LA."
Tobin looked down at her phone, horrified.
The texts began flying in, everyone asking the two if they were together and where the photo had come from.
They made their way back to the hotel and sat in bed. "Guess we couldn't have held it off for much longer..." Tobin said quietly.
"I'm glad people know. It wasn't how I would've wanted them to find out, but hey, we're free!" Alex smiled. Tobin nodded.
"Yeah... apparently we weren't too good at hiding." Tobin chuckled.
"It's okay, I mean, they were gonna find out at some point. Maybe this is best for us; you know, we don't have to be all secretive anymore," Alex put her hand on top of Tobin's.
"Good. Guess what?" Tobin looked into Alex's blue eyes.
"mm?" Alex squeezed Tobin's hand.
"I love you."
"I know. I love you too."
Alex's phone started ringing, as well as Tobin's and they realized that it was a Skype call.
They accepted and found themselves staring at just about the entire team on video chat.
"Hey everyone, what's up?" Alex waved.
"Is it true!?" Pinoe yelled. Everyone echoed.
"Is what true?" Tobin asked.
"You're such a dork sometimes, Tobs. ARE YOU AND ALEX TOGETHER!?" Kelley hollered. Alex started laughing.
"Are we together? Yeah, look, we're in a hotel!" Tobin smiled, knowing that her sarcasm would bother everyone.
"Well aren't you just so hilarious. Come on, tell us, kid!" Abby said.
"Yes." Alex grinned. "Yes we are."
She leaned over and gave Tobin a hug. Everyone simultaneously said "awwww" and then laughed.
"Well, that's amazing, and we're so happy for you guys. We love you!!" JJ smiled.
"Thanks guys, we can't wait for camp!" Alex smiled.
"We miss you all so much." Tobin said.
"Okay, well, we'll let you two lovebirds have some alone time, if ya know what I mean..." Pinoe winked.
Everyone signed off and Alex leaned on Tobin's shoulder as they pulled the covers over themselves.
"It's all gonna work out. No more hiding, no more sneaking around, no more pretending we're just best friends." Tobin said as they snuggled together.
"We're not best friends?" Alex pouted and gave Tobin puppy eyes.
"Yeah, I guess we are... Best friends who make out." Tobin chuckled and closed her eyes.
"Okay, goodnight, kid." Alex whispered.
"Night, Lex."
"Love you."
"Love you too."
and they drifted off to sleep.
