"Tomas!" my mother yelled to me from the front hallway. "Get ready! You don't want to miss the first day of high school!"
Secretly, I did want to miss the first day, but I wouldn't let my mom know. She would be heartbroken.
"Don't worry mom! I wouldn't miss it for the world!" I lied. I liked to learn about science, but not the kind of stuff my school teaches. I want to learn about something real. Something out of this world. Literally. I want to learn about astronomy.
I got dressed, and ate a bowl of cereal with my mom, my dad, and my sister, Sydney .I walked to my bus stop and thought Here it comes. The worst part of the day: the bus. As I waited for the bus, I noticed something out of the ordinary. The streets were empty. For some reason, there were no cars, no people, and no bus. I went to the inersection and looked around the corner. Still, there was no one to be seen.
Suddenly, there was a flash and a ear-shattering bang. Out of no where, a figure appeared on the street. It was tall and slender, with dark purple skin. Other than that, it looked pretty normal.
"Excuse me," I said, my voice quivering. "Who are you?" It started to make weird alien-like noises, then spoke.
"Hello there, Tomas Watt" it said with a strange accent. "I am a high-ranking officer of the species, the Pyms. My name is Zach. You have two choices. Come with me, or stay on this planet to die."
"Wait," I said, still trying to take in the fact that I was speaking to an alien. "What will happen to earth? Where is everyone? Why are you talking to me?"
