It had been a week since Elizabeth came out of the cocoon she had made for herself, and she was better than ever. She was having an easier time with the hunt for her father since Idina, Kristin, and April helping her.
They were close. She could feel it.
"So now we know he isn't North, South, or East of the school. It figures Rebecca took him to the West," Elizabeth announced.
"Could he be near the Walmart up on top of this hill?" Kristin offered.
"No. It has to be some place meaningful. Somewhere where she knows I will find her eventually," Elizabeth muttered, staring at the map of the city.
"What if it is your parent's house? That is west," Idina observed.
"No. She wouldn't go there since my mother still lives there. Rebecca would-" Elizabeth's eyes went wide. "I've got it. I know where she is!"
"Where?" April exclaimed.
"April, do you remember when Rebecca stayed with my family, and one day I went out with you so I could get away? I thought that Rebecca suspected that I did not like her.
"I told her that we were going to see a movie and she seemed overly interested in the theater. She looked it up online then claims he saw a movie the next day. I think she is at that movie theater," Elizabeth rushed.
"The movie theater?" April questioned.
"Think about. That building is in a semi-isolated part, and it is closed down. What better place to take someone you kidnapped."
"Elizabeth, what if...what if that is where they have been all this time? What if...she came back here and never left?" April whispered.
Elizabeth's eyes widened in realization.
"I'm going there now," Elizabeth decided.
"I'll come, too!" April offered.
"No, you need rest. Besides, I think she wants me alone," Elizabeth murmured.
"I'll walk you to the door," Idina told.
At the front door, Elizabeth wrapped her hand around the half of a heart friendship necklace that Elizabeth and April had for each other. Suddenly, Elizabeth was no longer in sweatpants and a t-shirt, but black pants and a black short sleeve shirt. Black boots decorated her feet, and a broomstick appeared in her hand.
"What is the deal with those necklaces anyway?" Idina wondered.
Elizabeth smiled. "April enchanted them. When we connect them and make the heart, we transfer power from one to the other. Now, I have a little bit of April's power if I ever need it, and she has some of mine. Also, they make us stronger."
Idina smiled at Elizabeth. "Be careful, okay?"
"I'll try. There's always the 'what if?' but I'll try, Idina," Elizabeth promised.
"I'll see you later," Idina mumbled, and Elizabeth walked out the front door.
The ice witch sat on top of the broom, paused for a moment, then took off. She soared over high in the sky until she was hovering over the abandoned movie theater.
Elsaba took a deep breath then pushed open the heavy doors. Inside, the walls were lined with wires and, worst of all, cameras.
"So much for the element of surprise," Elsaba muttered. "Where to next?"
She was in the main area. In front of her was a snack area and off to the side were hallways leading to different theaters.
As if it were an answer to her question, lights lit up to a hallway on her right, and, seeing no where else to go, she followed them. Eventually, she came to a theater. There was a big space where the seats ended and where the screen was, well, should have been.
There, waiting for her enemy to arrive, was Rebecca with a gun pointed to John's head. Surrounding her were computers screens that showed every inch of the building.
"You finally found me," Rebecca said, her voice unnatural in the silence of the room.
"Finally," Elsaba responded, staring her in the eye.
"Are you ready to turn yourself over to me?" Rebecca asked.
"The only way I am leaving here is with my father," Elsaba told.
Rebecca laughed. "Dear Elizabeth, you are so naive. Can't you see? You will never beat me."
"I guess we'll have to fight for it then," Elsaba said casually.
"Bring it on. Gun against ice," Rebecca snarled, pointing the gun away from John and at Elsaba.
There they stood, staring at each other, daring each other to make the first move. Just as Elsaba suspected, Rebecca moved first. She shot at Elsaba. Ice shot out of the ground quick enough to stop the bullet and disappeared just as quickly.
Rebecca moved closer and tried shooting again, but the same thing happened. Abandoning her gun, she moved up to Elsaba ready to throw a punch. Elsaba created an ice spike small enough to fit in her hand. She lunged at Rebecca, who grabbed her wrists and attempted to push her away. The ice witch moved her wrist so the ice cut Rebecca's hands.
Rebecca kicked Elsaba's stomach, causing her to drop the ice, which clanged to the floor.
Overall, it was pretty much the typical cat fight.
Rebecca slapped Elsaba across the face. The ice witch fell to the floor, blood starting to gather at a cut on her cheek that most likely appeared because of Rebecca's long fingernails.
Rebecca picked up the hand-length ice spike and laughed cruelly.
"Killed by your own weapon. How perfectly evil," Rebecca muttered.
She drew closer to Elsaba, who remained on the floor, blood dripping into her mouth. Rebecca crouched on the ground. She drew the frozen blade to Elsaba and let it hover on her enemy's neck.
"I will remember this moment forever," Rebecca whispered into Elizabeth's ear.
"Yeah, you will," A Southern voice called from the doorway. There stood Idina and Kristin, both holding guns. "Drop it."
Rebecca looked at them in alarm before laughing. "You honestly don't think you can defeat me alone, do you?"
"Who said we were alone," Idina said.
Sirens sounded, and soon, policemen ran in, forcing Rebecca down and appearing with the rest of Rebecca's team moments later.
After getting checked out, Elizabeth went over to Idina and Kristin. Her dad was being held for further examination by doctors and a report with the police. Kristin and Idina were talking in hushed voices, and before Elizabeth could hear what they were saying, they spotted her and stopped.
"Thanks. You know, for saving me," Elizabeth thanked.
"I hope you didn't think we would let you go alone," Idina said. It looked like her and Kristin had to tell Elizabeth something, but when they said nothing, Elizabeth continued.
"So, it's all over then," Elizabeth sighed.
"Yep. All of it. Even the issue with April," Kristin whispered.
Elizabeth was about to smile and ask how they saved April until she saw the grim looks on their faces.
"Idina, Kristin, what happened to April?" Elizabeth said in a wavering voice.
The answer that came next was enough to kill her.I am planning to have two more chapter after this one. That shouldn't be a huge problem considering j have about five readers. Thanks for holding up this far.
