The flat was unusually quiet, with only the hum of the refrigerator and the occasional shuffle of footsteps breaking the stillness. The boys had been talking about Y/N for days, missing her more than they'd expected.
It had been a month since she left for fashion weeks around the world, and they felt her absence deeply, like an empty space that no one else could fill.
Liam sat on the couch, his phone forgotten in his hand as he stared into space, his thoughts clearly elsewhere. "I swear, I never realized how much she keeps this place together," he muttered, his voice laced with a quiet longing. "It's so quiet without her."
Louis, leaning against the kitchen counter with his arms crossed, nodded thoughtfully. "Same here. It's like we're all just going through the motions. I didn't realize how much we rely on her until she left. It feels... off." He sighed, looking around the room. "This place isn't the same without her energy."
Zayn, who had been idly strumming his guitar, paused and set it down, his fingers lingering on the strings before he spoke. "She has this way of making everything feel... right. I didn't realize how much I miss that until now."
"I think we all feel it," Niall added, a sigh escaping his lips as he rubbed his face. "It's just too quiet. I keep expecting to hear her voice or see her walk through the door, and then I remember she's still out there doing her thing. It's like there's this piece of the puzzle missing."
Liam's expression softened as he continued, his voice more reflective. "It's not just the little things she does, though. It's the way she makes everyone feel seen. We've all got our issues, but she's always the one who knows when to step in and make us feel better. I didn't even realize how much we needed that until she wasn't here."
Louis chuckled, a fond smile creeping onto his face. "It's true. She can read all of us like a book. She knows exactly when to cheer us up, when we need space, or when we're being idiots and need someone to call us out."
Zayn agreed, his voice quieter than usual. "And she does it without even thinking. It's like she just... gets us."
The sound of the front door creaked open, but none of them noticed, too lost in the conversation about her.
"I miss how she keeps me in check," Niall said with a playful grin, his tone light despite the longing in his eyes. "Like, I'll mess up and she's right there with that look—like she's about to scold me, but somehow it makes me realize I'm being ridiculous for not getting it together."
Liam smiled softly, his eyes clouded with emotion. "I just... I can't wait for her to come home. It's like the whole place feels incomplete without her. I don't even think we've fully realized how much we rely on her."
The door creaked open, Y/N quietly stepped inside, her suitcase rolling behind her. She paused just inside the door, hearing the boys talking about her. A warm smile tugged at her lips, and her heart swelled with affection. She stood there, silently listening, feeling a little teary-eyed at their words.
"And when she gets back," Harry said, his tone light with a hint of mischief, "I'm sure we'll all be falling over ourselves to remind her how much we've missed her."
