"Okay, I got this."
The black-haired female drew in a deep breath, doing her best to chase away the worries that had formed a lump in the back of her throat. "I mean, it's just the first day of college right? Nothing at all to worry about...Yes, nothing at all."
She once again breathed in and out, before slapping the palms of her hands to her face. "You got this, Cheryl! Let's go!"
The 18-year-old walked straight through the large black gates, forcing herself to keep her eyes staring straight ahead, ignoring the stares that she got from any passerby. She headed towards the school, hoping that she wouldn't end up getting lost while trying to find the registration office.
It was grand. Kymbre University was indeed a prestigious school, one that accepts only the best of the best. In all honesty, Cheryl was absolutely shocked when she had somehow gotten her hands on a scholarship to such an amazing school. Her parents had thrown a party despite the fact that they weren't very well off.
Needless to say, the people there all sported appearances that the female was not accustomed to. Having grown up rather far away from the city, the clothing and hairstyles were rather foreign to her. Cheryl suddenly felt rather out of place in her stiff, plain clothing. Perhaps she should have went shopping before she headed here.
But it was much too late for any regrets. Cheryl made her way into the school, and much to her relief found a sign reading "registration office" without much trouble. She quickly headed in that direction-
-only to collide into someone.
Stumbling backwards, Cheryl let out a squeal as she tried to steady herself. A hand gripped onto hers, helping her.
"Are you alright?"
"Y-yes, thank you very much."
Standing before her was a beautiful girl with ashy-blonde hair that seemed to frame around her face like a curtain. Her eyes were a startling clear green, and they narrowed in concern. She wore a casual t-shirt and jeans that accentuated her slender figure.
Saying that she was beautiful was an understatement. She was absolutely gorgeous.
"Are you sure? You seem rather out of it..."
"I-I'm perfectly fine! Really!" Cheryl freaked out, immediately taking a step back and pushing the blonde backwards slightly. Her acquaintance raises an eyebrow.
"Hmm...Well, it's nice to meet you. My name is Elizabeth, but you can call me Ellie." She smiles warmly. "And you are...?"
"A-ah! Nice to meet you! My name is Cheryl Cross..."
Ellie laughs at Cheryl's nervousness. "You're totally a freshman. Calm down, I don't bite. You were heading to the registration office, right?" Cheryl nods. "Well, don't let me hold you back. Go on ahead. I'll see you soon, Cheryl!"
See you soon...?
Cheryl cocks her head to a side, confused, but Ellie runs away before she could ask for an explanation. After a moment of staring at the empty space where Ellie had been standing, Cheryl sighed and headed towards the registration office.
The black-haired female knocked on the door albeit a bit nervously, and it opened to reveal another girl with long, gray hair. She looked young though, and Cheryl wondered if her hair was natural or not.
"Cheryl Cross, I presume?" She spoke in a monotone, emotionless voice. Cheryl swallowed nervously. Something about the gray-haired girl made her feel extremely self-conscious.
