Nandini was working peacefully in her cabin when her phone rang. Without checking the caller ID, she picked up her phone and said, "Hello, Doctor Nandini Murthy speaking–."
However, she quickly stopped when she heard the voice she despised the most.
"Nandini, come downstairs; it's important," Rohit insisted.
"What the fuck you want, Rohit?" Nandini sneered, her hate for him boiling over. His actions had led to an onslaught of calls from relatives and acquaintances, all questioning her and suggesting that perhaps she isn't in the wrong—maybe Rohit had really cheated on her.
"Nandini, you better come downstairs, because if I come upstairs, the consequences will be worse," he threatened.
Nandini clenched her jaw, slamming her hand on the table as she shouted, "Who the hell do you think you are? How fucking dare you threaten me, Rohit? Go to hell!"
He interrupted her, trying a different approach. "Listen, Nandini, please come downstairs. I want to talk to you," he said, his tone polite, knowing that threats won’t work on her.
Nandini thought for a moment and then asked, "Why do you want to meet me, and why on earth do you think I would?"
"Nandini, it's important, or else I would never have called you," he replied, "I'm not interested in talking to a cheater like you,"
She shot back, disgust evident in her voice. Rolling her eyes, she added, "Sorry, Rohit, but I don't have time for an extraordinarily smart man like you.”
Nandini was on the verge of ending the call but when she heard Mannat's name, prompting her to pause and listen. "Nandini, don't cut the call. It's about Mannat," Rohit urged, deftly shifting the topic to manipulate her emotions.
His strategy worked; Nandini's anger flared. "What about her? I'm warning you, Rohit, if you and your family try to hurt my baby, I will forget who you are," she snapped, her teeth clenched in fury.
Rohit smirked, sensing he had her attention. "Come downstairs; I will tell you everything," he said before cutting the call, fully aware that she will rush to him now. He can't go upstairs to meet her because of Manik's bodyguards, who are as protective of her as a second skin. By invoking Mannat's name, he knows he is tapping into her deepest fears as he wants to meet her by hook or by crook.
Nandini's mind raced as she contemplated why Rohit is calling her to discuss Mannat. Without hesitation, she called Mannat's school, and a peon assured her that her daughter is safe and participating in a competition with her father. A wave of relief washed over Nandini; knowing Mannat is safe. She didn't hear that Mannat was participating with her father. She gathers her belongings and exits her cabin.
As she spotted Neha, she informed her, "Neha, I'm leaving early today. You know Rishu's roka is tomorrow, so I need to prepare."
Neha nodded, and as Nandini departed, she decided to call Manik, but he didn’t answer because he was trapped in a storeroom.
Concerned, Neha reached out to the bodyguard, informing them about the potential meeting between Rohit and Nandini. She had overheard their conversation accidentally when she came to ask a question. She left after Nandini to ensure her safety.
In the back parking lot of the hospital, Rohit wait impatiently for Nandini. Upon seeing her, he angrily pinned her against the wall.
"How fucking dare you kiss that bastard?" he shouted, punching the wall beside her, sending a jolt of fear through her, though she refused to show it.
