I finish applying a layer of glittery lipgloss to my lips before smiling at myself in the mirror. Fuck I'm hot.

I grin and stand from the vanity. My hair is open and flowing down my caramel shoulders in luscious dark curls and my body is clad in a strapless cheetah print top and a small black mini skirt.

"Perfect," I say and clap my hands. Today is Lydia's, one of Ben's friends, birthday. She invited me at the karaoke when she told me of the upcoming event.

Grabbing my leather jacket, I walk out into the empty living room. I snatch my keys off of the counter and open the door.

The cool November air envelopes me as I leave my apartment. I walk down the street towards the bus stop and make my way to the local bar.

I've only been here once or twice but it always seems to give me an uneasy feeling. Like I'm being watched. I shake my head and focus on the city rushing by outside the large window.

I rest my head against the glass and listen to the soft vibrations of the vehicle's engine.

Soon enough, I make it to the bar. I step off the bus making sure to thank the driver before joining the long winding line outside the place.

When I make it to the front, they let me in straight away. Odd. I didn't even need to show my fake ID.

I make my way towards a booth near the back, the voices of Jack and Lydia arguing is immediately recognisable.

"Hey," I say before sitting between the twins and Rosaline. "Sorry I'm late, there was some traffic."

I'm greeted by hugs and kisses from the girls who both begin to speak loudly with me. The boys each say hi before starting their own conversations.

"She was so hot," Lydia says as she talks about her most recent hookup. Me and Rosaline both laugh along to her story.

"Hey, girls," Lucas calls out and gets our attention. "I'm heading to the bar. You need anything."

We all speak together and order a mixture of vodka and coke, a margarita and a beer. "Alright, noted." He says before I quickly interrupt.

"I'll help. I do need to stretch my legs after being sat down for an hour." He smiles and we both walk to the bar together.

We stand waiting for our drinks as the bartender starts to make them. The silence is awkward because me and Lucas have never really had a conversation before.

I quietly tap the table with my forefinger but stop when I feel a sticky substance. Ew.

Eventually, the bartender places our drinks on the bar counter before adding another drink. "I don't think we ordered this." I stare nonchalantly.

The man looks back at me saying it's on the house. Oh? Free drink I suppose.

I don't think much of it and help Lucas to bring it back to the table where everyone is laughing at a joke made by Ben.
