Chapter 152: Daily Life of The Siblings, Part 5
With the endless stream of tests and exercises finally at an end, life felt suddenly unburdened. Song Yimo found herself strangely unused to the quiet.
Waking early as usual and unable to fall back asleep, she rose and settled herself in the window alcove. Letting her whole body relax, she felt the pleasant laziness seep through her. A rare feeling of stolen leisure welled up within her—like a stolen half-day of peace.
A vacation with no assignments… What would she do with herself?
Hmm, she could work on her novel a little more. She’d been writing this book for over two years now, and it was still unfinished. Her readers had been so patient, never giving up on her work. For their loyalty alone, she owed them a bit more dedication.
But that could wait until after the trip. She wasn’t sure how many days she’d be away, though she hoped not too long.
And she should start stocking up on chapters too. University was just around the corner, with military training and a mountain of other tasks waiting. She’d likely find it hard to concentrate on writing amid all that.
The story outline was more than halfway done, and she’d finish it by year’s end for sure. She’d need to start brainstorming the next novel too, maybe talk it over with Liang-ge.
What else?
Oh, yes—Miao Dad’s business could use some expansion. It didn’t have to be limited to a fruit shop. The internet was going to become a massive market, and Miao Dad should have a slice of that pie too.
By the time she returned, there would be countless people selling fruit online!
And they’d even offer free shipping—sometimes cheaper than buying it in-store…
Free shipping?
Express delivery?
The fog in Song Yimo’s mind cleared at once.
Of course!
Miao Dad could try his hand in the delivery business too!
She’d have to ask her big brother, though. She wasn’t sure how his logistics company was doing. If he had it all sorted, then Miao Dad wouldn’t need to step in. Competing with family would be out of the question.
“Yimo.”
Hearing his voice, Song Yimo looked down. Her big brother was smiling up at her in the morning light, dressed in workout clothes, his hair dampened with sweat. Whether it was the workout gear or the sweat-soaked hair, he looked somehow younger than usual.
Song Yimo thought to herself… Her brother looked so gentle like this.
She pushed open the window, leaned out, and waved at him. “You’re up so early, Dage.”
“No early start for once, yet you’re not sleeping in?”
“I’m still in high school mode—my body wakes up like clockwork.” Song Yimo sighed. “I’d love a lazy morning too.”
Zhai Muyang laughed, “Give it a few days; you just need to let your mind unwind.”
“I’ll try. Have you finished your run, Dage?”
“I just saw someone selling fresh corn at the gate. Looked good, so I came back to grab some cash. Toss me ten bucks, will you?”
Her eyes lit up. “Wait, Dage, I’ll come with you.”
She ran off in a hurry, still in her pajamas, so Zhai Muyang figured he’d go up and wait.
Opening the door, he called, “No rush, Yimo, take your time.”
