Body stealers

Prologue

The nights in Requiem were always calm with warm air and a slight breeze. The nights were what can only be expected from a world where spirits go to rest. The spirits never slept. At night they were so lively you could almost be fooled into thinking they weren't dead. This night was cold and while the spirits celebrated the group whose turn had come to return to earth, the body stealers plotted darkness. Every spirit that entered Requiem was put in line, when their turn came to return to earth they were gifted a new life with no memory of their previous ones. Until then they were free to spend their existence in Requiem watching the living make the same mistakes they always did. The body stealers where different. They were a group of entitled rebels who wanted to take control of Requiem. Every so often they would pick one of their members and steal a body for them. The body stealers had potions that their witches on earth created that allowed them to retain their memories. When a body stealer was born it was the duty of their witch to give them the potion when they were ready. On earth the body stealers built armies of supernatural beings for the sole purpose of being able to attain control of Requiem. He who controls Requiem controls the five worlds because Requiem is not a world for human spirits it is one for supernatural ones. Every supernatural being that ever lived good and evil comes to rest at Requiem. If the body stealers gain control of Requiem the only supernatural beings that will be released will be the most powerful darkest ones. That night while the spirits celebrated the body stealers broke into the chamber of portals and that night as the clouds darkened on Requiem and thunder broke across the skies the spirit of Aneris descended to earth.
