The Everlasting Bond (A Chandler Riggs Fan Fiction)

Chapter 1: where it all begins

Number 5, number 6, number 7..... my heart was beating out of my chest. "9th Grade Talent Show", I thought, "How am i going to be able to sing in front of all those people?! Number 16.....NUMBER 16! Oh no! That's me.As i got up from my seat, i]I could feel the attention of my fellow classmates rising.

 i'm a very shy and unconfident person,  I tend to mind my own business and stay away from the crowd, but i finally got up enough courage to enter in this talent show (or did i?) As i made my way up to the stage, my could feel my long brown hair flow through the frigged atrium air. At last I made it to the microphone, i gripped it with my clammy palms and closed my eyes.  when i opened them i could hear the song i was singing to, echoing off the wall. The rest of that dreadful 5 minutes was a blur.

 After i came back from my blur, all i heard was clapping. I look around me to see if they were clapping at someone else, but there was only me. it was like a wave of relief with a mixture of joy and love had come over me that moment. i felt like i had overcome an enormous obstacle in my  life, i was.... proud of myself for once.

As i made my way back to my seat,  all of friends and teachers were praising me."Now I just have to wait till the last contestant goes and then they will announce the winner." i said to myself. finally the last contestant had finished. as the judges came up with the winner,i thought to myself, was i good enough? Anxiously waiting, i shifted in my uncomfortable seat."And the winner of this years talent show is....Kayla Morgan!"

At first i didn't process what i had just heard. how could i, Kayla Morgan win the talent show?i hopped up and headed back on stage. now i know what you're thinking, winning a school talent show isn't a big deal, well in our school it is. not only do you win  an enormous shiny trophy, you also get to be in the newspaper. getting handed that trophy was a dream come true. i never thought i would ever overcome my stage fright.
