I saw her walking in front of me. I felt like time stopped as I watch her walk to my direction. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her. She was stunningly beautiful in her simple clothes. She’s just wearing a simple jeans and blouse yet she still stands out of the crowd. I can see their eyes move to her direction as she walks across the ground. She smiled and waved at me when she saw me. I waved and smiled back at her. I felt proud because of that. She came to me smiling and said, “Hi!”
I walked with her in the corridor. She is Julie, my best friend. Actually, she is my crush. No, I don’t know what to call my feelings for her, but all I know that she is special to me. Maybe I’m in love with her, that’s what my friends say.
It’s the first day of class. I’m a transferee in this school and taking up BSIT. I’m nervously walking across the ground of my new school. I can feel their eyes looking at me as I walk which made feel more nervous. Luckily, I saw my best friend sitting in a bench under the across the ground. I smiled and waved at him. He smiled and waved back so I came to him.
He walked me to my classroom. He is Elmo, a junior student and taking up BS CoE. He is my best friend. I am so thankful because I have a best friend like him. He always helps me in every way. He’s always there when I need a friend. He is the best best friend in the world. But aside from that, he is also someone special to me. I don’t know why, but, I love having him around me.
After class, I walked around the school. I am looking for a club to join. Elmo is in the Digital Minds Club (DMC), a club for IT and CoE students. I decided to join that club so I went to their office. The officer on duty told me to come back the next day for the registration.
THE NEXT DAY:
I saw Julie in the DMC office yesterday. I was told that she wanted to join the club and was told to come back today for the registration. I was so happy after hearing that. In my mind I was like, “Me and Julie Anne in the same club! That is so great!” What Julie didn’t know is that I’m the new club president. Something came into my mind. It’s a good idea, but I’m nervous about it. It’s the first time in my life that I’m gonna do this. I wish things would turn our well after this.
I went to the DMC office after my class. They asked me to sign the registration form and go inside a room. They told me that I have to take an exam before I can join the club. Passing or failing the exam wont matter as long I take it I’m already a member. I went inside the room then they gave me the test paper. I started answering the questions. The questions were simple and easy. On the second part of the exam, I was asked to convert an ASCII coded message. I found that part of the exam unfair for the 1st year students because they won’t be able to answer it but still I converted the coded message since I know how to do it. The given codes and my answer are:

= I LOVE U JULIE ANNE
I was stunned when I realize the meaning of the message. I couldn’t move for a minute. Then the door opened, and a guy came in holding a bouquet of orange roses. He stopped and knelt in front of me.
It was Elmo, he took my hand and looked into my eyes then asked carefully, “You decoded the message?”
I nod for my answer. I didn’t know how to act.
