Biana tossed and turned in bed, soft whimpers escaping her lips. All she saw was blood and shards of broken glass. Pain pierced her sight, making it fade into darkness. No, no, NO!!! The tunnel vision blinded her, making her dizzy, the pain made her heart halt. Blood. So much blood. Biana shakingly sank to her knees on the cold, stone floor. The next thing she knew, she was sprawed on her side, as she heard a 'crack', and felt the jarring agony of her head. "H-help," she whispered hoarsely, as everything faded to black.

Biana bolted upright, feeling as in shock as that miserable day when she'd passed out in a pool of blood. She felt her arms wobble as she pushed herself out of the bed, slid on some slippers, and slipped out the door.

Biana paced around Everglen's hallway, trying to push away the nightmare-ish scenes. They tugged at her memory, and she heard Vespera's chiding retorts and her own screams as she dodged shards of mirrors and illusions. She was suddenly there again, watching as her friends crowded around her, tears streaking down their faces. Fitz cradling her head in his lap as he screamed for her to "wake up! Biana, please, wake up!!!".  And she opened her eyes and felt the love they shared. She blinked, staring up at him, studying every feature of his face, then looked around, trying to confirm Tam was safe. He was holding her hand, tears running down his usually guarded face. His hand felt warm in her cold one, and Biana gasped slightly as she realized just how bleak and icy she felt. How cold. Tam gave her hand a gentle squeeze, and Biana tried to return the gesture, but she was too weak. Her memory flickered in-and-out as she was lifted and carried somewhere.

"Tam?" She whispered, and whoever it was replied quietly, "no. It's Dex. Tam is helping Sophie and the others. But don't worry, I'm getting you help."

"Help." She murmured, sinking back into the darkness.

Biana shook her head, trying to jostle the memory loose from her head. It had been a week since it had happened, since she'd "almost died", but she was haunted by the scenes she tried to ignore. Just like she was haunted by the scars creeping along her neck and up her back and arms like cracking ice. A single tear ran down her face. Things used to be perfect. She used to be able to climb a single flight of stairs without panting from exhaustion, used to be able to think of the Neverseen without being overcome by the pain. It was indescribable agony.

She stopped in front of Fitz's door, surprised to see the light on. She hesitated, before knocking quietly.

"Come in," her brother said softly, and Biana turned the doorknob and slipped inside. Fitz was sitting at a large desk, likely working on homework, though why he was doing it so late, Biana didn't know. He was obsessed with getting good grades.

"What's going on?" He asked gently, probably noticing the tears in her eyes. Fitz motioned to the bed, and Biana gratefully slumped onto it. She hatted to admit how tired her legs were after only walking for ten minutes.

"You okay?" Fitz enquired, a worried expression on his face. Biana shrugged sadly, grabbing Mr. Snuggles from the pile of pillows on the bed. She stared into his reflective glass eyes, wondering if the answer to the universe was in them.  ( The Answer is 42!!!!! But what is the Question?)

"No, Fitz." Her words were harsher than intended, but he didn't recoil. Only took her shaking hand in his, wrapping it with his warmth. Biana gave a small, sad smile, her lip trembling, tears overflowing as she let the nightmares pour out of her. Fitz took it all in silently, offering her a hug at the end of her tale. She accepted, and sank into the warm embrace. They sat like that for several moments, both filled with the pain and sorrow of the past, and hoping for a better, happier future.

"Thank you, Fitz," Biana whispered softly, and her brother gave her one last hug.

"Anytime, Bee." He replied into her hair.

Biana took the steps to the door, then paused a breath away from it.

"Good night," she smiled, one of the first in a while.

"Good night, Biana." He smiled back, giving her a tiny wave.

Biana smiled to herself, then the smile melted as her mind drifted to the horror again. Only this time, she knew she wasn't alone. Her friends cared. Her brother cared. And that was perfect.

(I feel like too often, Fitz is portrayed as a "monster", and I don't think that's very fair, so I portrayed him as a kind sibling, like the kind of relationship I have with my sibs. Sorry if you don't like Fitz and find this offensive ;) --TianaSokeefe42
