XV. we all make mistakes

Vi led both Maeve and Powder to a roof where the trio sat on the edge, their legs dangling a little as they looked out to the dimly lit streets of the Undercity,  oftheir home.

Maeve wanted to hang back a little bit, fearing that this was a conversation for the sisters and not her but Vi was quick to clutch onto her hand a little tighter - having not let it go since Maeve had grabbed it in the basement - and made the girl sit besides Vi whilst Powder sat on the right hand side of the pink haired girl.

"What are we doing here?" Powder's words were soft and graceful, showing her childish innocence more. Maeve slightly smiled at the girl, knowing she only ever tried her best.

"See that gutter running along the canal?" Vi used her right arm to try and point out the place to her sister, waiting patiently for the girl to spot it knowing it was important she did. When Powder tried to see it, but couldn't quite find it, Vi sighed softly. She reached in front of Maeve, grabbing a pole that was stuck in the metal fence on the roof and handed it to Powder. The girl could use it to try and see better. She then showed Powder where to look. "That's where Claggor got his foot stuck running from enforcers."

Maeve remembered that day, she remembered laughing uncontrollably when she, Vi and Mylo found him there. She felt bad afterwards, but the memory still caused her to chuckle to herself.

"They thought it was funny," Vi continued, "so they left him there. He was out all night before we found him." There was a moment of silence, a glance shared between the sisters and Maeve felt like she was intruding like never before. She pursed her lips, her hands laying relaxed in her lap. Her fingers began to fiddle with the hem of her shirt. "That sign?" Vi once again showed Powder where to look.

Maeve looked herself, her eyes gleaming with more amusement when she noticed the slightly botched painting on a sign. She remembered that day as well.

"You see it?"

"Uh-huh." Powder hummed a little, her eyes staring at the middle finger that was horribly drawn.

"Mylo tripped over his own paint bucket and nearly fell off trying to draw a giant middle finger." The girls chuckled a little to themselves. "His ass made that splotch." Powder's laugh made the silver haired girl smile more, her eyes twinkling with amusement even though it was her turn next.

"Vi please-"

"You see that broken window?" She used her right arm to show Powder a building a little ways off. There was a broken window, a piece of cloth flapping in the slight breeze as it wasn't pinned down properly. Maeve clenched her eyes shut and grimaced, hating the story behind it. "Evie, here, decided it would be a good idea to play a game with Ekko. They were throwing objects as far as they could, and she broke the window with a spanner."

"That poor old lady..." Maeve mumbled, shaking her head.

"She hit a poor lady in the back and she and Ekko had to run  after being chased. Ekko climbed up to a rooftop but Maeve tripped on the same gutter Claggor got stuck in and fell. She was soaked, scared and trying not to laugh in anxiousness. The man didn't see her fall, so he ran passed her." Vi was chuckling and glancing towards Maeve, her eyes glinting with amusement. She then, with her left hand, reached out to give Maeve's thigh a squeeze. "She came back into the Last Drop, soaked and pouting."

"I'm sure i smelt like piss, too." Maeve chuckled to herself, one hand instinctively reaching down to grab Vi's hand that was still gripping her thigh comfortingly.
