The day went by dragging. It was the first day of school, and yet it feels like we were already having exams week at how busy our classes were. We were seniors, I get that but we also need to breathe.
For once, I was actually looking forward to English class. Hearing a lot of shrieking girls at the cafeteria during lunch made me curious. Okay, so every girl in this school was falling for him which got me interested to know this guy. Interested in terms of how he teach. Does he flex his guns to keep everyone attentive in class?
It didn’t matter which part of cliques you belong to, everyone was talking about him like he was the last guy on Earth and we’re all competing for his attention, his love. It was funny how most girls in school were falling head over heels for a teacher. No matter what happens, he is a teacher and society dictates that we can’t date our teachers.
“You’re doing it again!” Caitlin teased. “Let me guess, you’re thinking about Mr. Pearce?” she questioned.
“No, of course not!” I partly lied; it’s true I wasn’t completely thinking about him, I was more on how most girls react.
“Don’t fret, it’s our next class Kayla” Amy said tugging her arm around mine and walking to English class. It was our last class for the day too! Yay!
Surrounded by screeching girls in the room makes my head throb, so crowded, like please stop. I was a bit dizzy so I decided to go out for some fresh air in the hallway. It was probably because I haven’t had a proper sleep lately, plus the noise adding to it. Personal errands keeping me up, as well as thinking of what-ifs and constantly daydreaming of dancing. I love dancing. It’s my life, used to be my life. But not anymore…
“Hey beautiful” Jason saw me leaning on the wall outside English room. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, just tired I guess” I uttered, looking down.
He held my hand, placed it on his chest. “You know I’m always here right?” He then comforted me with a warm hug. I felt Jason kissed my forehead, and patting my back as I held on tight to him.
He’s always been here for me ever since we were young. He knows everything about me, even more what Amy knows. He understands me. He never left especially those times I needed someone, my shoulder to cry on, when my mother died.
“Tell you what… why don’t we go out after school, my treat” he offered, aiming for a smile on my face.
“I can’t… you know why” I uttered, feeling depressed.
The bell rang signaling English class was about to start. I started walking pulling Jason inside. My friends and I sat at the back as always. I was seated between Amy and Jason, while Caitlin sat beside Amy, and Andrew at the side of Caitlin. Everyone was chatting while waiting for Mr. Pearce to walk inside. Some girls were already squealing while looking at the door.
In about 2 minutes (yes, I was counting), the door swung open. Spotlight was now at that opened door waiting for our ‘prince charming’ a.k.a. sex god English teacher to arrive. His right foot came out followed by his left, wearing black leather dress shoes. He was wearing grayish black trousers, with white button down shirt and a blue neck tie. Formal, but sexy. He wasn’t the typical teacher, he looks so young, and his face was so refreshing, doesn’t indicate that he was boring.
I think I’m gonna like this class. To me, having English as a subject was weird, knowing it is our first language. I just don’t get the point of learning it when I can obviously speak it.
“Good afternoon class. I’m John Pearce, your English teacher” he uttered then smiled, looking at everyone who were shrieking in silence, didn’t wanna scare him off. His Australian accent was different, sounded heavenly and appealing. If it were recorded, I’ll play it over and over again until the CD’s broken. His smile showed off his pearly white teeth, perfect but deathly. So this is what the girls have been talking around campus. How can a sex god like him be a teacher?
