"You're going to the dance with Axel, why?" Nick Leong , one of Arianna's other best friends, asked. He didn't know about Arianna crush on Axel.

"Well, it's like a celebration for winning the Sekai Taikai." Arianna explained as they walked to class.

"If you wanted a celebration for winning, we could've all just gone out as a group." Nick explained.

"Nick, why are you so against this?" Arianna gave the boy a confused look. "I know it was the whole dojo that won, but Axel and I are the champions. Besides, we're only going as friends." Arianna explained.

"I just don't like seeing you with him." Nick explained.

"What? Do you like him or something?" Arianna asked. She usually wouldn't want to fight with friends over boys, but for Axel...Well, that was a different story.

"What- no. Arianna, I just don't like Axel." Nick explained.

"Okay I know he may seem a little bit rude and grumpy sometimes, but trust me, he's genuinely a sweet guy." Arianna said, while smiling.

"That's because you always see the good everyone." Nick explained as they walked into class, Axel also had this class and Arianna was so glad to see him. And the good thing was she sat close to him, and Nick sat across the room which meant he wouldn't be bothering Arianna.

"Well, that's a good thing." Arianna protested as she went to her seat. She sat in front of Axel, and so since the teacher was a bit late she decided to turn around and talk to him. "Axel." Arianna smiled.

"Arianna."

"Okay, so I was thinking that for the dance, maybe we can try to match outfits. I know it may seem a little bit extra, but that was what Mei and I did last year, and I really liked that." Arianna explained. "What do you think?"

"Well..." Axel hesitated to respond. Honestly, even after years of knowing Arianna, he still had to plan out they way he would talk to her or else he would get nervous and begin stuttering.

"I mean, we don't have to match outfits if you don't want to." Arianna said, she didn't want Axel to feel pressured. "Totally optional."

"No, it's- it is fine. We can match." Axel smiled.

Arianna squealed with excitement. "Great! You're gonna love it."

Arianna had finally called Mei, and they spent hours catching up. Mei had just finished giving Arianna a lecture about talking to boys, you'd think that having a best-friend who was popular and knew how to flirt, would mean Arianna would also know, but she didn't. "So, Nick has finally left your dojo. Now, you and Axel can be together without any interruptions." Mei laughed.

Arianna scoffed, "Mei, Axel doesn't like me."

"Here we go, again." Mei sighed. "I can prove he likes you with a simple text,"

"No, you can't." Arianna laughed.

"Sure, I can. I want you to send a simple message to Axel." A smile forming on Mei's face, "Something like "Hey", and if he responds quickly that means he like you." Mei and Arianna both knew that Axel would be in the dojo, training right now.
