19:45. this is the usual time I get out of work, well at least it was. But I guess today’s my lucky day; I got out of work on time.

My name is Trish Morgan, 23 years old. I’m a computer engineer.

Things have been pretty rough for me ever since I started working here. You see I was born with a weak body, and because of that I need regular check-ups and I take lots of pills just to keep my body upright. And a weak body plus damned expectations = hard work and stress.

Maybe if I didn’t graduate with honors and notched the Board Exams them maybe they would cut me some slack. Sometimes I feel like quitting my job and do freelancing jobs. That would be easier.

I entered the elevator. There were two newly hired ladies behind me. I couldn’t help hearing what they were talking about since they were talking in a very lively way.

“Hey did you see that guy in the main office? He was so handsome!”

“Oh you mean that guy who was talking to Mrs. Ester Vince Lynn?”

“I wonder if he’ll be back.”

“I think he just came to talk about business with the boss?”

That sounds interesting but I didn’t see anyone from outside the company? Maybe it’s because I was late? Oh well…

I was looking at my feet while walking towards the exit. I was thinking about random stuff. As I lifted my head up I saw a guy standing about 3 meters away from me. He seems to be looking at me with a strange surprised expression on his face. He looks kind off familiar to me. Maybe I’ve met him before?

“Hey” he said with his deep soothing voice

Wait, I know that voice…

“Hey…uh…Evans?”

“It’s been a while huh Trish?”

“I guess so, you haven’t changed one bit, Grey” I said with a smile and he smiled back.

Then he escorted me to the parking lot.

His face, the way he dresses, his gestures; he hasn’t changed. I’m talking about this guy, Grey Evans. He was my college colleague. We went through a lot back then. This man knows me like the palm of his hand. It’s simply because I spent 5 years with him in the university. He was a huge help to me back in those days so I owe him a lot. And he was quite popular with the girls, but from what I know he never dated anyone. Don’t get me wrong but I find it strange.

“I never knew you worked here?” He said while we were walking along the parking lot.

“That’s because you never asked me” I looked at him with a grin.

“Well that’s because I don’t know any possible way to ask you” He said grinning back

“Hey how come I never knew you were here?” I asked looking towards my car

“That’s because you never asked me” He said with a jolly tone.

“What did you do here?” I asked while I stopped in front of my car

“Oh, business. By the way how are you doing, I mean your – “

“I’m fine. Don’t worry” I smiled at him to convince him that I’m okay. That’s the kind of guy he is, always worries about other people before his self.

“Oh… I see.”

“Now where are my keys?” I mumbled to myself while searching my pocket. Grey was watching me from behind. I feel like there’s something holding him back.

“Ah! There they are!” I opened my car door and got in. Then I dropped my bags on the seat beside me.

“H-hey”I heard him mutter. uhh I knew it. I already saw this one coming.

“Hm?” I responded.

“Wanna go and eat dinner with me?”

“Sorry but my dog’s waiting for me” I shut the door and started the engine. I started driving but on my mirror was a vision of Grey still watching as I go away.

“You missed me that much? How sweet”  I mumbled

I was just thinking random thoughts throughout the whole ride, until I realized I’ve finally reached my house. As I was parking my car, I could already hear Jake’s barking. He’s such a sweetheart. I opened the gate and he greeted me with a bark. Then I played with him.

“You must be hungry, aren’t you Jake?”

I opened the door and turned on the lights. I live with my dog in a two-story house that my parents gave me as a graduation gift. It’s kinda big for only one person to live in. To be honest I think it’s designed for 10 people.

I gave my dog his usual meal and stayed by his side while he was eating.

“Guess what buddy, I saw Grey today.” I said smiling while patting his back.
