Note: This is a guy/guy story, so don't read it if you're against that!!!!

I've been writing this story on and off since middle school and I've decided to give it a go again. This first chapter isn't the best and really random and I ended the chapter at a weird place, but it will get better. I just didn't know how to start it and just went with this. This story will mostly be in Brian's POV, but every now and then it will be in Zack's POV. I know for sure chapter 2 will def be in Zack's perspective.

Also, I mentioned The Devil Wears Prada and their Space EP in this chapter. I know it's not released till August 21st, but in the story, it's November, hence the EP being released.

Chapter 1

"Brian, can you go give these to the new neighbors across the street, please?" My mom asks as she hands me a plate of her infamous homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Why she thinks sending me who's socially awkward and sucks at meeting people to meet the new neighbors is a good idea, I do not know, but I take the plate of cookies from her and make my way across the street without protesting against it. My mom should be the one to do this though; she's super friendly and it's easy for her to meet new people and my dad is the same way, but more on the chill side. I don't understand how I'm so socially awkward when I was raised by two social butterflies.

I knock on the door and wait a couple minutes before a guy with black hair and facial piercings opens the door. His brown eyes bore into mine as we stand there with an uncomfortable silence between us. I extend my arms out to hand him the plate, "Uh, sorry to bother, but uhm, my mom made this for you guys as a welcoming gift." He hesitates before taking the plate from me.

"Thanks..." He mutters. Without saying another word, he closes the door in my face. That was probably the worst encounters I've had with meeting someone, ever. No, scratch that; it WAS the worst encounter I've had. I go back to my house and don't even bother telling my mom how it went. I hope I don't have to interact with him again...

I sit in first period, talking Sammy's ear off for the millionth time about how amazing The Devil Wears Prada's Space EP is. It was released a few months ago, but I seriously cannot get over how awesome it is. Sammy nods her head in agreement, but I know she isn't really listening because she's heard me talk about this before. I wouldn't listen to myself either, honestly. As I start to change the subject, I notice that guy walk through the door. There goes my hope for never interacting with him again. I sigh and lean back in my chair, but I can't seem to take my eyes off of him. God damn, he's attractive. He walks to the back of the classroom to find a seat and we don't break eye contact the whole time.

"Is that the guy you told me about who moved across the street from you?" Sammy asks.

"Yeah, it is." I nod my head.

"Maybe we should befriend him. Being the new kid sucks and it doesn't hurt to be nice." She says and she gets up to go talk to him. That's Sammy for you, always so nice, always wanting to make friends. She comes back to her seat just as the teacher walks in, "He wasn't very talkative, but I did find out his name is Zack. Let's find him at lunch time."

Lunch time rolls around and I see Zack sitting at one of the tables by himself. I decide to go talk to him myself. As I approach the table he is at, I go over in my head what I want to say. Just a simple hi and introduce myself should be fine.

"H-hi...I'm Brian," I stammer as I sit across from him, "You moved in across the street from me."

"Oh, yeah, the guy who gave me the cookies," He says and seems to be trying his hardest to avoid eye contact which is weird because he never broke eye contact with me during first period when he walked to his seat, "I'm Zack."

"Well, I guess I'll see you around." I get back up and head over to my group of friend's table and sit down next to Sammy.

I get through the rest of the school day, but I can't focus on anything. For some odd reason, Zack is the only thing I can think about. I don't understand it at all because when I first met him, I was hoping I'd never have to interact with him again.
