To Me

To think that to me,

all I can see,

is the beauty she shows.

To me she helps define the word,

yet she can not see it?

like she has fallen into the pit,

known as self hatred.

And it is something she learnt,

from a very young age,

that she doesn't have what it takes to make it to the front page,

yet she shines like a light in the night,

and beautiful is all i can think of when I see her,

But she does not concur,

and she can't see what we can,

but she has a plan,

to free herself from what she thinks is wrong with herself,

but all that does is hurt herself.

with the missed meals,

her skin seems to peel,

away and as she becomes less,

she starts to feel worthless.

Like what she is doing is causing her to falter,

while she sinks farther beneath the water.

Even more hopeless then before,

she tries to get more,

of what she thinks is beautiful while she still can not see that she already is.

But as the lights go out and the day comes to an end,

she feels almost like it is her end.

But with a midnight prayer,

she finds reassurance,

and a hope,

in the one that loves,

and she is freed like a dove.
