Millie
I walked through the front door, dropping my bag onto the floor with a sigh. It had been a long and tiring day, and all I wanted to do was collapse onto the couch with a cup of tea.
I made my way to the kitchen, my feet aching in my high heels. I kicked them off as soon as I reached the kitchen, feeling a sense of relief wash over me.
I poured myself a cup of tea and sat down at the kitchen table, feeling the warmth of the cup seep into my hands. I closed my eyes, letting out a deep sigh as I felt my muscles begin to relax.
But as I sat there, my mind began to wander. It always seemed to do that, drifting back to the one person who seemed to occupy my every waking thought.
Taehyung.
I couldn't help but think about him, even though I knew I should be trying to forget. Forget the way he always made me feel. But it was no use. My mind seemed to be hardwired to think about him, no matter how hard I tried to resist.
Why did I still feel this way about him? Why did I still care?
I didn't know the answers to those questions, but I knew one thing for sure. I couldn't keep going on like this, constantly thinking about him and wondering what I had done wrong. I needed to move on, to forget about him and focus on myself.
But as I sat there, sipping my tea and trying to clear my head, I couldn't shake the feeling that it was going to be a lot harder than I thought.
I sat at the kitchen table, lost in my thoughts, when I heard the sound of the front door opening. I knew it was him, and my heart sank. I wasn't ready to face him again, not after the argument we had earlier.
But I didn't have a choice. He walked into the kitchen, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on me. He looked at me for a moment, his expression unreadable, and then he walked over to the counter and started pouring himself a glass of water.
I watched him, feeling a sense of tension building inside me. I knew we were going to argue again, and I wasn't sure if I was ready for it. But I didn't have to wait long. As soon as he turned around, he saw me sitting at the table, and his expression darkened.
“We need to talk,” Taehyung said.
What did he want to talk about? What had I done now?
“What is it?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
“It’s about your mom,” Taehyung replied, his tone cold. “I’ve been getting calls from my mom that she’s been asking questions about our marriage. She’s been asking my mom if we’re happy, if we’re in love.”
“So, what’s wrong with that?” I responded, my frustration rising.
“What’s wrong with that?” he repeated, his voice dripping with irritation. “You know exactly what’s wrong with that. She doesn’t understand the complexities of our marriage. And if she keeps asking questions, she’s going to start to suspect that something’s wrong.”
I felt a surge of anger at his words. How dare he imply that I was the one causing problems in our marriage? “What are you trying to say?” I asked, my voice trembling slightly.
