"Hephaestus warned me about Zeus's Trial. He said I might die from it... what does that mean?" asked Alex.

"Zeus's Trial is the hardest. I don't remember what it is, but it is deadly." responded Otis, avoiding eye contact.

"And you tell me this now!?" said Alex.

"Sorry, but if both Poseidon and Hephaestus said you're good, that means you have a high chance of success."

"You cheated on Poseidon's Trial, and Hephaestus isn't even one of the Big Three, so how would he know?"

"If you die, you do know I can bring you back, right?"

"Alright, let's do this then."

Otis handed Alex the materials needed for the ritual.

"Okay all you've got to do is take a running start and jump off the cliff. The shoes will keep you airborne." said Otis.

"That seems trusty." responded Alex as he nodded and looked at the edge. He gulped, shut his eyes, and got ready.

He opened his eyes and began running. As soon as he leaped off his shoes spread their wings and took flight. He soared for the clouds until he passed them and looked around. He spotted a ruin and descended onto the platform.

He got the ritual started and started to chant:

"Procellas Aquilone oriente meridiem et occidentem, circa Regem formae deorum promptissimus vocare fulmen Dei nititur, Iuppiter ! Sic fiat !"

In the center of the pentagram, a large bolt of lightning struck the center as jolts of electricity sent sparks flying everywhere, as Alex ran behind a pillar only to find a bolt strike it down. He looked back to find an old man carrying a lightning bolt.

"Who summoned the King of the Gods!?" bellowed Zeus so loud the whole world should've heard it.

"I did," answered Alex, weakly.

"What is it you want, mortal?" asked Zeus.

"I've come for the Trial." said Alex.

"Alright. I don't really have an idea of what I should give you... Oh! I know! I forgot who did it, most likely  Gabriel. Well, one of the brothers accidentally let loose a powerful dragon in Purgatory. Why they care, I don't know, in my opinion it's just another stupid realm for monsters to hunt, but onto the point, I need you to slay the dragon, and bring me its head." said Zeus.

"Wait, Purgatory exists?" asked Alex.

"Of course, the good souls go to Heaven, the bad souls go to Hell, and the monsters go to Purgatory." said Zeus.

Alex tried processing the information then got back on track.

"How am I supposed to slay a dragon?" asked Alex.

"Lend me your sword," demanded Zeus. Alex handed Zeus the sword.

Zeus obliterated the sword as Alex stood wide eyed. Zeus held a hand in the sky as a bolt appeared in his hand. It shrunk as he handed Alex the bolt.

"If you concentrate, it becomes a sword." said Zeus as Alex concentrated and the bolt morphed into a silver sword. It had perfect balance.

"It is the first ever bolt. You must strike the dragon and when you feel it is weak enough, throw it in bolt form to finish it off. Afterwards, bring a knife or dagger to cut off its head. Also beware of the monsters in Purgatory such as werewolves, vampires, and leviathans. The sword is made of silver so it'll kill a werewolf just by stabbing it in the heart. Vampires can be killed by decapitation. Leviathan can't be killed but stunning spells can stun them depending on how good you are at witchcraft. Decapitation can also slow them down as it'll take them time to regenerate. Are you ready for this quest?" explained Zeus.

"Yes," answered Alex.

"Good. Get your things ready, you have to summon a reaper to get you to Purgatory. Summon me if you succeed." said Zeus as he exploded in a burst of electricity...
