Lorelai raced over to Luke's apartment the minute she got out of her car. She still held the test firmly in her hand as she reached to the top of the door hinge for the spare key into the diner. She unlocked it then went upstairs, knocking on the apartment door.
Luke opened the door as he held a taco in his hand and noticed Lorelai's weird behavior.
"Why didn't you just walk in?" Luke said walking away from the door to put down his taco, he looked at Lorelai and her hand behind her back.
"Lorelai, what's going on?" He looked at her with a look of confusion. "This isn't going to be like that time you wanted to paint my nails, right?"
Lorelai laughed slightly, "No, Luke."
She pulled her hand out from behind her back, showing him the pregnancy test.
He looked at it with a squint as Lorelai watched Luke's face suddenly change from his normal scowl to one she's only seen glimpses of before when he'd talk to his daughter, April.
But this was much, much, brighter.
"Oh my God." He laughed, hugging Lorelai, picking her up and spinning her around in the process. They shared a kiss and smiled at each other.

A week later~

Rory sat on the train to Washington D.C., starting her introduction on the piece she was covering that night.
Jess had left Stars Hallow to go to the East Hamptons to meet his actual mother and had spent the week catching up. Rory thought of how well he had taken the news compared to how he would have taken the news five years prior. She was proud of Jess and could not wait to define their relationship. But there was still something in the way of Rory being with Jess as she felt like she needed more closure from Logan.

Rory arrived in Washington D.C. later that morning, spent a few hours in her hotel room prepping her questions for the President, then left. The hours she spent asking questions to the President felt like a blur, but a happy, dazy, kind of blur. She felt satisfied when she returned to her hotel room with the coverage she received from the president and then finished her piece for the night. Rory was falling asleep, when the buzz of her phone, vibrating on the nightstand on it's charger. woke her up entirely. She sleepily looked at the caller and saw that it was Logan.
"Hello?" She answered, pulling the phone off of the charger, then flipping to lay on her other side.
"Did I wake you? I keep forgetting the time difference, I'm sorry. Should I go?" Logan rambled.
"No, it's alright." She laughed.
"Okay, so about meeting in a few days," Logan paused.
"Yeah?" Rory waited, expecting him to call the meeting off.
"Connecticut, still, right?" He laughed.
"Yeah, can't necessarily afford to fly to San Fran on a whim." She giggled.
"True,"
"You're still coming to Connecticut anyways for that meeting with your mom, right?"
"Unfortunately."

"Logan, I have to tell you something before we meet." Rory took a deep breath.
"Which would be?"
"I sort of have this weird unofficial thing going on with Jess." Rory said as fast as she could while still being understandable.
"Oh," Logan's voice faltered.
"Yeah." Rory felt tears brim behind her eyes.
"Well, still nothing wrong with two friends catching up, right, Ace?" Logan asked.
"Suppose not,"
"I'm gonna let you go, it's late there." Logan said.
"Goodnight," Rory said.
"Goodnight." Logan said, ending the call.
