"4 days from now. It will come, come destroy us all. The worst bit is, we have no way of stopping it."
The audience in Garditon square fell into silence when the man spoke of the future.
Once that moment of silence was up, everyone started panicking and screaming while I just slide on my hood and walk away. I have no business with these people. Besides, I need to get to the next city over. Borphengale. They have the best snacks over there.
As i trudge down the dusty path that leads to Borphengale, dirt gets scattered all over my face and in my eyes when the merchants from Garditon race past me to send out the terrible news to neighbouring civilisations with their carts. I cough as i wipe the dirt from my eyes, relieving them of the burning sensation.
Once all the carts go past, I continue my journey a little bit off of the road so that I don't get dirt and crap on my face. My journey goes through to night. That's lucky for me because I'm a 'Cursed Being' or whatever it is. I've also got the nickname Night Hook because of my conjuring's mostly looking like hooks, but that's an easy mistake to make seeing that a scythe looks a bit like a hook. I also have a 'super attack' or something that everyone calls Hook of Death. I guess people are scared of me because I'm an assassin that works at night, probably bringing the extra scare that i give people when they see me kill someone. Honestly, i scare myself sometimes.
Once it's dark enough i spot smoke in the distance. Probably a campfire or something. I head to the trees nearby and climb one. I jump from tree to tree getting closer to the camp. I crouch on my tree branch and get a better look at the campsite. Three tents around a fire, they could hold one or two people in each. I can hear whispering coming from the tents. I try to lure them out by snapping one of the branches near me. I hear the closest tent unzip and see two men crawl out. One, a short, fairly fat man and the other looks a bit younger and burlier. I take a look at the other two tents, checking if anymore people are going to come out. After a few minutes none come out so i take a look back at the other men to see if they went back to their tents. I can only spot one. Where is the other one. Suspicion fills my mind but I don't have much to think when a loud "Gotcha" came from underneath me and a rope wrapped around my leg and pulled me down. I brace for impact when i hit the rock ground below. I try pulling the rope off of my leg but the pain in the side of my head is unbearable and i loose consciousness.
