The only sound left that I could hear was the sweet sound of the wind creeping through my window. The moonlight shimmered through the canopy outside and landed right on my face. I held my hand up to the light and admired the white glow that was illuminated by moon. I twisted my hand a few times so that the light eventually touched every inch of skin on my hand until a shadow ran past and blocked out the light for no longer than a second. I jumped up out of my bed and threw my head out the window. Nothing. Just emptiness. Maybe it was a bird or maybe my mind was playing tricks on me or maybe it was both. I went to pull myself back inside to go back to bed but something grabbed me by the arm, I tried to scream but I couldn't get a sound out, instead I kicked my legs around and clawed at what had my arm but I was already out of the window and outside pulled up against a massive object.
"Nova shhh, it's me you pansy." The voice was familiar but I still kicked, I couldn't trust what I couldn't see.
A face came into the dim, patchy moonlight. It was a man with black hair and eyes so blue I could have mistaken them for stars in the dark.
I threw his arms off me and his hand away from my mouth,
"Zandar! What are you doing, are you crazy? It's the middle of the night and your snatching people out of their huts?"
His mouth curved into a smile and he pulled me in by the waist, his faced really complimented the moonlight,
"I had to see you, Nova." He leant in to kiss me but I moved my head away from his.
"You saw me today, you couldn't wait until tomorrow to see me?"
Zandar was always acted impulsively and if he wanted to do something, he would do it, nothing could stop Zandar from doing what he wanted.
"I want to be with you every waking moment, I never want to part from you, I don't want to ever have to wait for tomorrow before I see your face again."
He pulled the loose strains of hair away from my face and tucked them behind my ear. He ran his hand down my jaw line and rested his hand on my cheek. I leaned my head into his hand, I wanted him as much as he wanted me,
"I love you, Nova." My eyes snapped up to him at that moment.
I stared into his eyes for what seemed like an eternity. I opened my mouth slightly to tell him I loved him too but at that moment he moved his hand to my chin and lifted my face towards his. My mouth burned for his. I stood on my toes to reach his face with mine but I was knocked over by what felt like an earthquake. I heard screaming and the leaves turned orange. There was another earthquake. Zandar ran off around to the front of the hut, I followed to only bump into him as he stood in horror toward the destruction of our village. There were people running for their lives. There was fire everywhere, my view was illuminated by colours of orange and red and darkness. All I could do was just stand there and watch in horror as my people were dying and running for their lives. My head jerked upwards to a sound like nothing I've ever heard and above me was just darkness apart from two piercing yellow dots. I stood entranced, staring at the yellow lights wanting to move towards the lights, then I saw what the lights were attached to, a big demonic, metal bird-like creature. It shrieked at me and moved toward me in a fast swift motion, I stood still staring at the lights, unable to move, not wanting to move, but before the bird could make contact with me, something else had. Zandar.
