"Caterina you good for nothing girl get down here now!" The Faerie Mother called. Caterina looked at herself in the mirror sadly. Her real faerie mother had passed away when she was but a small Changeling. Then her father had remarried. Caterina tried her hardest to love her stepmother but it was obvious that the faerie and her two daughters hated Caterina, but Caterina refused to retaliate and hate all of them back. Not long had her father and stepmother been married before Caterina's father died from being out in the human realm. Now she lived with her stepmother and stepsisters, and the only one who truly cared about her, Seraphina. Seraphina was a special kind of dragonfly that was like a minute dragon she had the color of sapphires on her body and wings, and her fur was the color of a daffodil as were her talons.

Caterina fluttered her large, purple, butterfly wings as she brushed through her long blue hair. Her eyes were the color of violets, lips as a cherry. Her hands were thin and appeared delicate but were in fact very strong. Caterina was wearing a dress made from a leaf. It started out red, then as you went down it went darke green to light green, back to darke green, then to lavender. Her shoes were a pair of slippers made from the petals of a red rose. Faeries were in charge of protecting the forest and helping it grow, a lot like elves.

Seraphina looked at her faerie friend sadly and nuzzled Caterina's hand gently. "We will get out of here soon, my dear. Once we do we will be able to go look for your father."

"Let's face it. Do you really think that if he was alive he would have left me here with that awful faerie?" Caterina asked sadly. She had a slight Irish accent, as did Seraphina. Seraphina sighed and looked down.

"You never know, Caterina. It could just be that he can't find a way to get to you right now." Seraphina said quietly. Caterina looked at her dragon friend and nodded. Her father used to tell her to never give up, that there was always hope for everything as well as a reason for everything. She wouldn't give up. Every night she promised herself and her father that much. She gave Seraphina a pat before fluttering down to where her stepmother was calling her.

"Caterina, you stupid girl. What took you so long?" The Faerie Mother glared at Caterina and rolled her eyes. "I need you to find the White Rabbit and tell him we need our delivery of food now. He's very very late today." She said. Caterina nodded slowly and looked at the ground.

"Yes ma'am." She said solemnly.

"Whatever is wrong? Have I not told you to not be sad around me? I don't want you upsetting me or my girls!" The Faerie mother looked at Caterina outraged. "Now go find that useless rabbit and get out of my sight!" She forced Caterina out of the castle with a small bag of money and food.

Caterina looked at Seraphina curiously. "Seraphina... do you think-"

"Caterina! This is our chance! I will fly back up and get your bag of things, you start looking for the White Rabbit. Maybe he will have something on your father." Seraphina said before taking off, flying up to Caterina's tower.

Caterina grinned and took off into the sky, the morning air smelling as fresh as roses. She was still searching when Seraphina came up next to her, holding Caterina's bag of clothes, food, and money. "He must be around here somewhere." Caterina said, almost helplessly.

"Are we going to ask him about your father?" Seraphina asked and Caterina nodded.

"Of course. I think we should also ask him for access to Wonderland. We should get as far away from my stepmother as possible." Caterina said before looking down and seeing the Rabbit. "Oh! Mister Rabbit!" She called out before diving down and landing in front of him.

"Oh hello dear." The White Rabbit smiled. "Did your stepmother send you to get me for your delivery. I am very sorry but I was very late for a very important date with the Red Queen. She does not like being kept waiting." He said and Caterina handed him the money that her stepmother had given her.

"Aye, she wanted me to get you... but that is not what I landed for, sir. You see... I am leaving her to search for my father... You wouldn't have happened to have seen him recently... have you?" She looked down and bit her lip gently.

"Oh my dear girl. The last time I saw your father, I had taken him into Wonderland and to the Caterpillar. If you would like, I could do the same for you and Seraphina." He looked at the two and smiled again.

"That would be very kind of you, sire." Seraphina bowed her head and nuzzled Caterina.

"Very well, your stepmother's food can wait. Let us go now, maybe you will have luck with your father." He said before leading them to a small rabbit hole. "Stay close now, this can be very dangerous without the proper guide." He grinned and suddenly vanished through the Rabbit Hole.

"That little trickster." Seraphina said with a laugh before the two spread their wings and dove down.
