I was born a champion. I sang in my head as I worked on my English Essay. I had no idea why I was singing that song. But I guess could sort of relate to some of the lyrics.

You made me who I am from the words you said. Some people—

"You're singing in your head again, aren't you weirdo?" A voice cut through my thoughts, making me pause my inner mini concert. Damn, I was just about to rap!

I rolled my eyes, trying to portray indifference. "Psh, no!"

"I know that look weirdo. You know you're a terrible liar!" Angie, my best friend, scoffed. She was right though. Me and lying just did not get along. Don't get me wrong, I can lie to save my life but other than that I'm hopeless. I also couldn't help telling the truth sometimes. The words always seem to come out before I can stop them.

Hannah, Angie's cousin and our best friend, laughed. "Truer words have never been spoken!"

Honestly, these two should've been twins. Their personalities were incredibly similar yet their appearance differed greatly.

Angie was tall, naturally blonde, slender and caramel skinned with a vast of knowledge of the latest songs from just about any artist from the 21st century. Not kidding! The girl is like a walking music billboard! A very pretty billboard.

Hannah was her slight opposite. She was a shawdy (any song that has the word in it is apparently refering to her) with shoulder length black-brown hair, light brown eyes and caramel skin a shade lighter than Angie's. Like Angie, she had a love for music.…and Mindless Behaviour. Seriously, she even called dibs on Ray Ray.

Did I also mention that they were extremely immature? No? Well, now you know. And somehow, they can string anyone into any stupid argument. I can still remember one particularly very stupid argument we had a month ago. Where did chickens come from?

"Where did the chicken come from?"

"An egg."

"Well, where did the egg come from?"

"The chicken?"

Technically they didn't start it. Someone else did but somehow our entire class managed to get involved. Because of my best friends. I had absolutely nothing to do with it. Okay that was a lie.

"Oy, weirdo!" Fingers snapped in front of my face. I blinked. Angie was staring at me with finality and Hannah…where'd she go?

"You, my friend, are officially losing it." I gave Ange a look, trying to raise an eyebrow but failing miserably.

"You've been in dreamland for about 3 whole minutes. Get your ass out of that seat and go buy me something to eat!" She demanded, coming forward to pull me out of my chair. At my startled and confused expression she sighed and promptly dropped my arm. "It's recess dude."

"Where's Hannah?" I asked. I scanned the classroom for her familiar figure.

"She went to and I quote, 'take a shit because my ass feels like it's about to split into two." I choked back a laugh.

"Only Hannah would ever say those words in school or anywhere for that matter." I chuckled. Angie nodded in agreement.

"True. She cray-cray."

I laughed. "You're related to her. And crazy isn't the word I'd use to describe you two. Psychotic more like."

Angie faked an offended look and then nudged me. "Yeah, but you love us!"

I rolled my eyes and muttered "unfortunately" under my breath. "C'mon blondie, let's go get Hannah and food."

After we stuffed ourselves silly at the school canteen, the siren called, signalling the end of our 30 minute recess. We all groaned in unision.
